Capitol Police: Man was shot after drawing weapon, no officers hurt

U.S. Capitol Police on Monday shot a man who appeared to draw a weapon and point it at officers at a security checkpoint, according to police chief Matthew Verderosa.
The suspect has been taken into custody and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, he said without providing the man’s name. Verderosa said no officers were injured, though a female bystander suffered minor injuries.
