Wildfire Fire prompts evacuations in Timberon, New Mexico

NM Fire Info: Date/Time/Situation: As of 8:45 p.m., the Oakmont fire is estimated at 100 acres, and zero percent contained. A Type 3 IC has been ordered to take command, given the amount of resources and situational complexity. Otero County has released the county’s resources for the evening to be available for Saturdays morning’s actions.

TIMBERON, N.M. — Evacuations have been ordered in Timberon by the Tularosa Basin Regional Dispatch Authority due to a wildfire in the Lincoln National Forest.

Officials say it started out as just evacuations in the area of Sacramento Drive and Paradise Valley Drive, but they’re now asking for everyone in Timberon to evacuate. They say to call 575-437-2210 if you have questions. More Here
