The Jerusalem Post is reporting today (5/14/2024) that Israel Defense Forces (“IDF”) have provided video evidence documenting Hamas terrorist activity alongside United Nations (“UN”) vehicles and at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency‘s (“UNRWA”) logistics warehouse compound in eastern Rafah – which is a central point for the distribution of UNRWA’s aid.

In response, representatives of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (“COGAT”) conveyed the findings to senior international officials and called on the UN to conduct an urgent investigation into the matter.

The Jerusalem Post report may be read HERE.

All Israel News has posted a YouTube video of Hamas terrorists with vehicles at the UNRWA compound in eastern Rafah:

My brothers and sisters, many in the world, and even right here in the United States, seem to be aligning with the views of Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas regarding Israel’s war effort to eradicate Hamas from Gaza and to restore a non-militant, non-Jewish-hating government to Gaza for the Palestinian people.

A wide spectrum of news agencies (local, national and international) are publishing news reports and opinion pieces leaning heavily in favor of the position that Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the IDF are somehow failing to understand the situation on the ground and have no compassion for the Palestinian people.

In this writer’s view, the foregoing is incredibly sad and outright erroneous.  It’s very safe to presume that Israeli political and military leadership are well apprised of the minutia of this situation.  Like all democracies, including the United States, Israel’s population has expressed varying opinions about the war, and concern should only happen if this were to be forcibly stopped.

That said, The Jerusalem Post’s article shows, in a small way but in a manner consistent with a pattern of past behavior, that Hamas terrorists are not the friends of the Palestinian people.  Hamas uses Gaza’s citizens as human shields and murders them when it suits the organization’s political or military goals, and of course, Hamas has absolutely no regard for any Israeli citizen – man, woman, child or baby.

Hamas breaks every known and internationally-accepted rule of warfare.  It is a terrorist organization with the expressed goal of killing all Jews and removing the nation of Israel from the face of the earth.  It should come as no surprise that continuing cajoling and handwringing by fearful and risk-averse nations, including the United States, persists in hopes that an acceptable ‘settlement’ would be obtained.  This is simply not a reality.  Sometimes evil understands only one thing, brute force.

Just as God corrects those He loves, and just as the love of God does not always require simple or easy responses, it is also true that compassion is not always going to be simple or easy.  Compassionate actions do not always leave the aroma of flowers in the air, and especially when the prince of the power of the air (the devil) is being fought in Israel’s war against Hamas – for the greater good of all involved, Palestinian and Jew.

As Prime Minister Netanyahu has expressed many times, in the end, the Palestinian people and the Jewish people deserve homes that are governed in a peaceful manner, free from the daily fear of militaristic terrorist attacks, hunger and poverty.

Let’s continue to pray for God’s chosen people (the Jews), the nation of Israel, the hurting and displaced Palestinians, and for a sudden and lasting peace in the land between the Jewish and Palestinian peoples.

Let’s remember a few things the bible has to say about evil, the prince of the power of the air (the devil), and that even war may become necessary:

1 John 3:8 (Amplified Bible)
“The one who practices sin [separating himself from God, and offending Him by acts of disobedience, indifference, or rebellion] is of the devil [and takes his inner character and moral values from him, not God]; for the devil has sinned and violated God’s law from the beginning.  The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.”

Ephesians 2:1-3 (NKJV)
By Grace Through Faith
“And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience [emphasis mine], among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (Amplified Bible)
A Time for Everything
“There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven—[a] time to be born and a time to die; [a] time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.  A time to kill and a time to heal; [a] time to tear down and a time to build up.  A time to weep and a time to laugh; [a] time to mourn and a time to dance.  A time to throw away stones and a time to gather stones; [a] time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing.  A time to search and a time to give up as lost; [a] time to keep and a time to throw away.  A time to tear apart and a time to sew together; [a] time to keep silent and a time to speak.  A time to love and a time to hate; [a] time for war and a time for peace [emphasis mine].”

Let’s also remember, especially when it becomes necessary to “pick sides” in a spiritual battle, what the bible has to say about God’s chosen people:

Genesis 12:3 (NKJV)
The LORD said to Abram (later Abraham):  “I will bless those who bless you, [a]nd I will curse him who curses you; [a]nd in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Deuteronomy 7:6 (NKJV)
“For you [the Jews] are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself [emphasis mine], a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.”

Zechariah 2:8-10 (NKJV)
“For thus says the Lord of hosts:  ‘He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.  For surely I will shake My hand against them, and they shall become spoil for their servants.  Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me.  Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion [Jerusalem]!  For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,’ says the Lord.”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
