The Associated Press (“AP News”) reports that after more than a century, Boy Scouts of America (“BSA”) is rebranding as Scouting America, another major shakeup for an organization that once proudly resisted change. The organization announced this week that all young people, including transgender children, are welcomed as part of their membership policy.
Founded 114 years ago, the Texas-based organization has recently been mired in turmoil over a flood of sexual abuse claims and bankruptcy. Now, the organization is leaning into a more inclusive message as girls have been joining throughout its ranks.
The Boy Scouts organization began allowing gay members in 2013 and ended a blanket ban on gay adult leaders in 2015. In 2017, it made the historic announcement that girls would be accepted as Cub Scouts beginning in 2018. Two years later, the organization was renamed BSA. Since then, more than 6,000 girls have reached the rank of Eagle Scout.

My brothers and sisters, whether one supports the changes or not, if you are more than two or three decades old, the Boy Scouts of today is not the Boy Scouts of our youth!
What seems sadly undeniable is that American society continues to march toward gender neutrality and confusion, as the Girl Scouts now accepts boys and the Boy Scouts now accepts girls, as if there were no differences physically, emotionally and biblically between the two sexes. In fact, there is supposedly now many more than two genders, but the word of God, the ultimate source of all TRUTH, says otherwise (see Genesis 1:27).
Is it any wonder that so many of our youth today have anxiety, depression and other mental health issues when their very identity given by God has been questioned (and sometimes hijacked) by society and sometimes by their own parents?
Lord, we desperately need Your wisdom in this world. Parents need to understand that You are not a God of mistakes! All children (including you and me) have been given a plan for our lives that will bring glory to God and the very best for our lives, if we will only place our trust in the wisdom of God and not in the wisdom of this world (see 1 Corinthians 3:19)! The evil one is a liar, who exists to steal, kill and destroy (see John 10:10). He hates Jesus. He also hates you and me.
Pray that spiritual eyes and ears would open to the truth and wisdom of God, found in Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth and the life (see John 14:6)!
