The Christian Post reports that the late evangelist Billy Graham will take his place next week among 200 Americans honored with a statue in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
According to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, a statue of the evangelist will be unveiled on Thursday, May 16, 2024, during a ceremony that will be attended by musician Michael W. Smith, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and other congressional representatives.
The seven foot tall bronze sculpture was designed by a Charlotte, North Carolina artist, and depicts Graham gesturing toward an open bible – representative of his life’s work. The pedestal is engraved with John 3:16 and John 14:6, proclaiming Graham as a “Preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

My brothers and sisters, it’s impossible to think of any person in the modern age who is more deserving of such an honor than the late Reverend Billy Graham! As FGGAM Co-Founder and Pastor Dewey Moede has told this writer (and all who would listen) many times, his life was greatly impacted by the ministry and truth spoken by Billy Graham.
Scripture is clear. It is the will of God for all to be born again and to live eternally in the very presence of God Almighty. There is nothing we can do to “earn” our salvation. It is a gift from God, for all who believe upon the name of Jesus. Amen!
