NEW PRAGUE, Minn. (BP) – When three families here decided they wanted to plant a church that would be outward-focused, they turned to Southern Baptists for help.

Roman Catholics and Lutherans are the strongest Christian emphases in this town of about 8,200 people, but no missions-minded Southern Baptists surfaced until 11 years ago, when the three non-Southern Baptist families started talking.

“We didn’t have any churches in New Prague that would go out to the community,” Kurt Stepka told Baptist Press. The families met a few times in the basement of Dave Mulder’s home, prayed about it, “let it rest for a few months, and God said, ‘Yes,’” Stepka said. The Rest of The Story Here

Why Churches Talk the Great Commission But Don’t Do It

BONUS!

From Adrian Rogers:

One reason some people don’t believe the Word of God is the mistaken idea that it’s not relevant; it’s not important; or it cannot apply to our current day and age. The problem with this logic is it is not theology, it is “me-ology.” They’re simply thinking about themselves.

This is not only a matter for non-Christians, but it is also a problem in our churches today. There are those who say they believe the Bible. These people give lip service to the fact that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible, authentic Word of God. But they don’t study it; they don’t know it; they don’t live by it; they don’t assimilate it; and they don’t stand on it. In the end their problem is the same: They are only thinking about themselves and what they want God to be. There is dust on their Bibles and drought in their hearts. It’s important for you to say, “I know that I know that the Bible is the Word of God.” But it means nothing if you don’t live like that is true.

May I encourage you today, dive deep into the Word of God. If you follow Jesus, know His Word! Somebody said, the truth of the Gospel is so deep scholars could swim and never touch the bottom, yet so wonderful that a little child could come and get a drink of water without fear of drowning. That is God’s precious, holy Word.
