We do not gamble. Sharon and I are good stewards of everything GOD has given us. It is foolish to gamble and throw money away as people go hungry. That is very ugly. We also do not go to the casinos and throw money away. Our hands are made by God to do the works of God, not to throw money away on booze and gambling. Look how sinful New Mexico has become, so many casinos and so much poverty and crime! The politicians told us the state would have better education and roads with all that money! LIE! I will spend my remaining days standing strong for my loving Lord. I only have one life here on earth. I am in the 4th qt. of my life with the 2 minute warning sounding and no time outs left! Ha! I am going to give all my time remaining to JESUS!

What does the Bible say about sovereignty?
God is the ruler with absolute power. He made all things; he is not the work of man’s hands, nor a god of man’s imaginations.

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (BP) –  With the Super Bowl this weekend, don’t expect many pastors to place a bet on Kansas City or San Francisco to win the game, but a few may have more than a rooting interest riding on the game.

Despite its legalization across many states, U.S. Protestant pastors remain opposed to sports gambling, but they’re not doing much about it, according to a Lifeway Research study. Few pastors (13 percent) favor legalizing sports betting nationwide and most (55 percent) say the practice is morally wrong.

“Anything can happen in sports, and many Americans want the same allure of an unexpected win in sports to translate into an unexpected financial windfall,” said Scott McConnell, executive director of Lifeway Research. “Most pastors see moral hazards in sports betting and believe American society would be better off without it.”

Pastoral opposition

A majority of pastors (55 percent) believe betting on sports is morally wrong, including 33 percent who strongly agree. Around a third (35 percent) disagree, while 10 percent aren’t sure.

“While the Bible does not explicitly say, ‘thou shall not gamble,’ biblical principles regarding work and wealth indicate that gambling is unwise,” said Miles Mullin, Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission vice president and chief of staff. “The Bible teaches that sin has a ripple effect that harms not only the participant but those around him. This seems particularly true for addictive behaviors, and gambling is no different.” More Here

Got Questions states: Sovereignty: Most gambling has an element of chance. Some gambling, like the lottery, is pure chance. Other games require more skill. Sports betting is somewhere in the middle as the serious gambler will have carefully analyzed both teams and have more than an educated guess about who will most likely win. However, those who gamble often do not recognize that God is in ultimate control. He is sovereign over everything. They often assume that everything is the result of blind chance or a combination of chance and cause and effect within a closed system. They do not always recognize that God maintains final control and we do not know what purposes He may have in the outcome of a sporting event. Without knowing His purposes, it seems foolish to bet on the outcome.

Likewise, the one who hopes to win by gambling may often lack faith in God’s ability to provide financially. This may not be true in every case, but before a Christian places a bet of any kind, he should carefully evaluate what that activity reveals about his own belief in the sovereignty of God. More Here
