KOAT TV Reports: The New Mexico Department of Transportation worked to clear a highway in northeast New Mexico. More than 25 vehicles were stopped on U.S. Highway 56 Tuesday afternoon.

A sheriff’s deputy with the Colfax County Sheriff’s Office needed rescuing from a blizzard that caused white out conditions on Monday.

According to the Colfax County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy was rescued after their unit became stuck on a highway in the county.
