The DEMS and GOP have made our government ungovernable:

impossible to control or govern.

“an ungovernable impulse to run away”

I would not give you a ‘plug nickel’ for most of them!  Politics is destroying America!  America needs God, not politics at its worst.

Many Christian radio stations are on the AM band.  There are many news/talk stations yet on the AM band.  It seems to me these politicians are out to protect their ‘own skin’ rather being representatives of ‘we the people.’

Radio NK published an article yesterday written by author Radio Ink regarding Senator Rand Paul’s blocking of the “AM For Every Vehicle Act” from passage.  “This bill would have passed today were it not for two words from the senator from Kentucky – I object.  That is the only reason this bill has not passed today.”  Those words were from Texas Senator Ted Cruz after Senator Paul sank a bipartisan attempt to pass the AM For Every Vehicle Act through the Senator by unanimous consent on Tuesday afternoon.

Senator Paul is seeking to add his own modification to the bill to end electric vehicle subsidies under the American Vehicle Tax Credit, in lieu of mandating that AM radio remain a standard feature in all vehicles manufactured and sold in the United States as a safety feature.

The Radio NK article may be read HERE.

So, it looks to me like politicians and big money want to control the media in this country!

  1. These matters always cause some internal turmoil within me, as those in Congress who usually object to the padding of unrelated matters within other bills to assure passage, as demonstrated here (at least in promise), will resort to this same tactic if it provides a means to an end. In some ways, I understand, as Congress seems to despise taking up separate matters separately… Seems that this is a direct result of overly-large and overly-reaching civil government feeling the need to have its hands and strings in everything we do. On the other hand, this AM radio legislation will pass eventually, and to me it seems logical and correct to “save” AM radio in vehicles. On the third hand, it’s yet another example of the federal government telling private industry what they must manufacture, which in-and-of-itself – within a supposedly free market – is distasteful. I would also mention that certain conservative political pundits have found AM radio to be a much more effective platform than the other side. Finally, and perhaps the most important point, is that Christian radio, including old-fashioned preaching, still appears on AM radio, and not so much on FM radio. Incidentally, I still, and proudly, have only over-the-air television at home (not that I put any faith in or waste much time watching network television news, as more information that can be digested more quickly is found on the internet). And, new car standards notwithstanding, as a former Albuquerque-Santa Fe daily commuter, I can attest first hand of the value of AM radio! It was an essential component of daily travel!
