UPDATE: Liberty University is pushing back on a leaked preliminary report from the U.S. Department of Education, saying the report contains “significant errors, misstatements, and unsupported conclusions.” The preliminary review of the university’s compliance with the Clery Act between 2016 and 2022 includes an accusation of rape against a former president and the destruction of evidence. Evil like this chases people away from the Church. Sharon and I hear it all the time from people want nothing to do with Christians who do ungodly things. So many so called Christians show an unbelieving world just what it wants to see. Its just like all the scandals that have happened in the Southern Baptist Convention. I am coming down hard on all of us! We are to represent GOD not SATAN! It is getting so bad, that I could almost write a column almost everyday on the crimes of the American Church. Here is the latest report on the mess at Liberty University as reported my Stephanie Martin in Churchleaders:
While investigating Liberty University, federal officials reportedly found that a campus-wide culture of silence discourages victims from reporting crimes. The private Christian school in Lynchburg, Virginia, also might be underreporting criminal complaints it receives, trying to maintain its reputation of safety.
The U.S. Department of Education has been investigating whether Liberty complies with the Clery Act, a 1990 law that requires U.S. colleges participating in federal financial aid programs to disclose annual statistics about campus crime and safety. More Here

By Leonardo Blair, Senior Features Reporter from The Christian Post: Former Liberty University president and chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. has accused multiple past and current members of the Evangelical Christian university’s senior leadership team of sexual misconduct and self-dealing in an amended lawsuit initially filed in July. Falwell, who was forced to resign in 2020 over a sex scandal, now names his brother, Liberty University Chancellor the Rev. Jonathan Falwell, and the school’s President Emeritus Jerry Prevo, as defendants. Read more.
