I am from the old school. So many Americans are snowflakes, even people who call themselves Christians. They cannot take correction, they just have meltdown. Shame on us for the children and adults in New Mexico that are hungry! I have people tell me as I travel that they do not go to Church because they see it as ineffective, meaning they see the Church as not making a difference in America. Right or wrong, I find that as a growing opinion of many. Only 4% of Americans have a Biblical Worldview and just 37% of Pastors have a Biblical Worldview. The Church in America needs to help families, more than ever. Satan is having so much fun destroying the family unit. Two big areas of failure of the Church, failure of ending abortion and helping families stay together.
KOB TV REPORTS: “One in five New Mexican kids in our state is at risk of hunger and one in seven people overall,” said Sonya Warwick, director of communications at Roadrunner Food Bank. “You know, we tend to have higher poverty rates in our state and hunger comes along with that.”
What does the Bible say about feeding the needy?
Luke 14:13-14 (NIV)
“But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.
What is your Church doing to feed the hungry? What are you doing to feed the hungry? Many Churches have their own kitchen, what are you using it for? I am not doing enough. I need to do more. I am very sadden that we have so much hunger in New Mexico and all over America. I think we are in for a shaking from God. Are WE truly people of GOD?

I do not think the very poor are on Facebook sharing pictures of themselves and telling everybody how great they are and how much fun they are having. I call it Facebook glory, it is not at all the glory to God! God is watching us all. So many folks boast about themselves on Facebook. That is a shame. The poor live in a whole different world. Have you visited that world? It could be in your very own backyard. I have many stories I could share with you, especially from Catron county, which is stricken with much poverty. Maybe I will do that one day. My friend Jo Ann Young helps run the food bank in Reserve, NM, which is in Catron County. FBC of Reserve Deacon Charles McCargish and his lovely wife Joan, who is now with JESUS, would bring a hungry soul or addict  to Church at times and then feed them afterwards. There are many unsung heroes feeding the hungry. Many of them are not on Facebook. I had a Pastor in Albuquerque say to me last week, “Why do Pastors and others take so many pictures of themselves feeding the hungry and other things they do, are they not just supposed to do that?” We have to be careful that when we boast, that it is in the Lord and not ourselves.

Matthew 6:1-34 ESV

“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. …

Here in New Mexico we kill God’s babies. Francis Shaeffer said, “Every abortion clinic should have a sign in front of it saying, “Open by the permission of the church.” I do not think any Pastor or Church has anything to boast about. New Mexico has suffered from a spiritual drought for years.

We must build bridges of love and trust with all people. We all must carry out The Great Commission. If you do not, we are dead spiritually.

Got Questions states: The Bible says we are to care for the poor, which involves feeding the hungry. God is pictured as feeding the hungry. “He has filled the hungry with good things,” Mary sings (Luke 1:53). “He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry,” the psalmist sings (Psalm 146:7). If we are to be godly people, then, we must also seek to feed the hungry.
