American Family News reports that on May 12, a Students For Life chapter set up a booth on the campus of Manhattan’s Hunter College to protest chemical abortions.

Shortly thereafter, Hunter College’s Adjunct Assistant Professor Shellyne Rodriguez showed up and reacted angrily to the display, knocking items to the ground and emphatically telling students at the table that “you’re not educating [expletive] – this [expletive] propaganda!”  She reportedly cursed the students and tried to disrupt the display a second time, but was prevented from doing so.

The New York Post reported yesterday that Professor Rodriguez, following the incident at Hunter College, held a machete to a New York Post reporter’s neck on Tuesday — and made wild threats that she was going to “chop” him up.

A spokesman for Hunter College, Vince DiMiceli, told the New York Post that Shellyne Rodriguez was fired and that the college “strongly condemns the unacceptable actions of Shellyne Rodriguez and has taken immediate action.”

My brothers and sisters, this article is not meant to create shock or even anger, but to remind that the evil in our midst and in our times is very real.  Evil is often triggered in the presence of God’s righteousness.  We have no need to fear, as Jesus is our Victor.  He defeated death at the cross of Calvary!  God bless those who continue to stand up for the unborn children.

Proverbs 2:10-15 (NLT)
“For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy.  Wise choices will watch over you.  Understanding will keep you safe.  Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose words are twisted.  These men turn from the right way to walk down dark paths.  They take pleasure in doing wrong, and they enjoy the twisted ways of evil.  Their actions are crooked, and their ways are wrong.”

Ephesians 6:12 (ESV)
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”

1 John 5:3-5 (ESV)
“For this is the love of God, that we keep [H]is commandments.  And [H]is commandments are not burdensome.  For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world.  And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.  Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
