In our world of “Do your own thing” mentality, we have people who will find a way to justify their own misdeeds, sin, if you will. There always seems to a valid reason for doing the unthinkable. After all, there are no absolutes; no true truths; no rules that apply to me and my situation, right?
Sadly, there are people of money, power and influence who guide a society to accept the many wrongs which bring us down as a people; a nation, to the extent they we eventually make laws which allow, and in some cases, fund the many evil, godless behaviors. Some used to joke that the Ten Commandments were merely the Ten Suggestions; now they are removed altogether in many places of this nation.
Many people are anti-God completely though not a declared atheist by name and aggression. What saddens me more is that a large number of folks who label themselves to be Christian, either engage in much of the same behaviors, or at least turn a blind eye to the destructive powers of such sinful life behaviors.
There are too many such godless, sinful activities in our nation of America to deal with in a brief writing as I give here. But, as much of January deals with the Sanctity of Human Life, abortion, hereafter also stated as child sacrifice, is the only topic in this giving.
“Child sacrifice is the ritualistic killing of children in order to please, or appease a deity, supernatural beings, or sacred social order, tribal, group or national loyalties in order to achieve a desired result.” – Wikipedia
People have been “religious” by nature dating all the way back to our beginning, or Genesis. The acts of the first man and woman against the commands of their (our) Creator, caused an irreparable breach in relationship with the One True God of all mankind. The one which was gifted with dominion in the world (Satan), freely aided the wandering, wondering souls to pursue man-made, at least in thought, gods of every variety one could imagine. These lost souls would try in every way to please these non-existing gods of the mind. Most of the time images of these imagined gods were fashioned so that there could be sight to the thought. In trying to appease, or please, these statues or dolls, a form of worship was developed according to the comfort and pleasure of the society which followed a particular god. All kinds of debauchery would find their way into the worship experience, in many places, from the far away past right up to today, child sacrifice became a normal act of worship or giving to these demonic deities.
Now, just how does this fit the topic of this writing?
Up until recently the aborting of birthed babies has not been consideration in America, however, in some states it is becoming far more than a consideration. What we are seeing is a child having been born becoming a child sacrifice, not to a god of name, but rather the god of self. As such, it is a form of human sacrifice; murder. Originally, child sacrifice was thought to be an extreme extension of the idea of worship to the non-existent gods, and the more important the object of sacrifice, the more devout the person giving it up was. However, in this modern act, the object sacrificed has no value to the sacrificing god of self. The god of self, after the sacrifice, has been set free from perceived restraining responsibilities. The result in the mind of the sacrificing follower of the god of self: self worship.
But, what is to be said of the unborn child?
The abortion of a developing baby (child) is also a child sacrifice to the one same god of self; murder. This is not simply an opinion, this is God’s commandment broken without regard for God and His creation.
One abortion is too many. Let me sight my home state of California. I do not yet have the precise statistics for 2019, but in 2017 there were 132,680 known abortions performed in California (I have no reason to expect 2019 to have been any number less).
In my 39 years of ministry I have had the personal struggle, though resulting in greater joy, of counseling both women and men suffering under the effects of post-abortion trauma (unresolved guilt from abortions). None of which came in to my office with a clear awareness of what the root cause of their struggles were, which surfaced as other things such as relationship struggles, or even sleep disorders, etc.
God gave me some wisdom to receiving inner healing of cooperative suffers through a counseling ministry of prayer. Through much pray seeking the Holy Spirit’s probing of mind and memory, often the event or events of abortion would surface from the counselee’s sharing. Following the Spirit in prayer tactics of me and the counselee working together, God’s mercy, grace, forgiveness, and inner healing was received by the individual. Therein was my joy fulfilled!
My struggle and sorrow of said ministry, was in the hearing of the many stories of how these events came to pass, and even some of the methods. Many young women were forced to have abortions by their Christian parents who were embarrassed, some by boyfriends or husbands. Some of the counseled women did not seek medical assistance to attempt the aborting of the pregnancy, but used many dreamed up methods. One such self attempt was a mother throwing herself belly first into walls. Though there were many attempts in hopes that this would work, it did not, the child was latter born having some mental disorders. This one lived with the guilt of it as she watched her precious child grow with difficulties. She grew to love her child, but the guilt would not leave her until the LORD moved greatly into the situation.
Abortion is an evil that murders, kills, and destroys lives and families. Satan has targeted the family because it is God ordained and bears His image.
I leave you with a few Scriptures to encourage believer to be active and pro-active in the war for our fellow man, and especially our children.
“But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.” (2 Corinthians 4:3-4)
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)
“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [b]wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [c]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.” (Ephesians 6:10-18)
Beloved, the image of God upon humanity, all humanity, pre-born to the senior citizen, is worth your attention and prayerful protection.
