Map of Iraq and Syria (Illustrative)Reports out of Iraq indicate that the Islamic State (IS) terror militia has made large gains in the last few days, taking control of Muthanna, a former chemical weapons facility northwest of Baghdad, with officials from the Baghdad regime warning that several tons of toxic materials stored at the plant were unaccounted for even before the current crisis. However, a report by the UN released in 2003 said the chemical agents, including sarin and sodium cyanide, were “of poor quality” and “would largely be degraded after years of storage under the conditions existing there” but warned that they would still be dangerous to handle. Read More
