Star Parker, writing for American Family News (“AFN”), wonders what is the disconnect explaining the absence of uniform support among Americans for clear-cut action by Israel to defend itself against brutal terrorists who are committed to the destruction of Israel?

Gallup polling in March 2024 shows that 36% of Americans “approve of Israeli military action in Gaza” and 50% disapprove.  In November 2024, a month after the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel that claimed the lives of more than 1,200 innocent Israeli civilians, 55% approved of the war initiated by Israel.

Remember when Americans were strongly united to condemn and retaliate against the horror of the terrorist attack against the United States on September 11, 2001, which took the lives of almost 3,000 persons?  The 1,200 Israeli victims of terror, in that tiny country of some 9.5 million, equates to more than 40,000 lives in the United States (a country with a population of more than 330 million).

My brothers and sisters, I’m not going to try to provide specific answers the questions posed, because the answers are found in scripture, prayer, revelation and dare I say, common sense and decency.

I’ve shared the above article because it asks a very important question.  Why are so many of us so bothered by the fact that so many are not bothered by terrorism?  Satan and all of the evil he tries to bring upon the world should be universally hated and crushed as a result of the prayers of the righteous undertaken in accord with scripture, in the name of Jesus, and by the power of His blood (see John 10:10, Ephesians 6:11-13 and Matthew 18:18).

As a reminder, Israel is the only Jewish nation in the entire world.  Israel is also the only democratically-governed country and true ally the United States has in the entire Middle East.  Has the world completely forgotten the Holocaust?  What’s with the apparent double standard when it comes to protecting the nation of Israel from attack, yet the world rushes to support nations or organizations openly supporting the murder of Jews and the removal of their nation from the face of the planet?

War is ugly and should be avoided whenever possible, unless it is thrust upon one as a result of unrelenting evil.

Pray, my brothers and sisters, and don’t be afraid to speak the truth of the bible.

Here are the above referenced scriptures:

John 10:10 (NKJV)
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.  I [Jesus] have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Ephesians 6:11-13 (NKJV)
“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, [and] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.  Therefore[,] take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

Matthew 18:18 (NKJV)
“Assuredly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

And, let’s not forget what God says about the Jewish people:

Genesis 12:3 (NKJV)
The LORD said to Abram (later Abraham):  “I will bless those who bless you, [a]nd I will curse him who curses you; [a]nd in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Deuteronomy 7:6 (NKJV)
“For you [the Jews] are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself [emphasis mine], a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.”

Zechariah 2:8-10 (NKJV)
“For thus says the Lord of hosts:  ‘He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.  For surely I will shake My hand against them, and they shall become spoil for their servants.  Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me.  Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion [Jerusalem]!  For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,’ says the Lord.”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
