UPDATE! Interstate 40 reopens after derailment near AZ-NM border

The train wreck has caused serious traffic problems for trucks hauling freight on I-40, it is closed at the New Mexico-Arizona border. I-40, as you may know, is one of the biggest truck routes in America. FGGAM has not received any word as to when I-40 will be reopened. NM State Police

Federal authorities are investigating after a freight train carrying fuel derailed near the Arizona-New Mexico border, igniting a large fire and prompting an evacuation and traffic closures.

A BNSF freight train derailed on Friday at 1:45 p.m. MT near Manuelito, New Mexico, according to the National Transportation Safety Board.

“The preliminary information we have is the train derailed at least 22 cars including multiple propane tank cars,” the NTSB said in a statement on Saturday. More Here
