I beleive the GOP should have had Speaker Johnson running for President. He is a fine Christian man. A true gentleman! As we said back in the day, ‘clean as a whistle.’ No baggage! Johnson got help from the DEMS to get the aid bills through, despite the crazy lady Taylor Greene! Green and her gang are so bad for our country! OPINION: Marjorie Taylor Greene is so Foolish. She is trying to wreck the GOP

(RNS) — Conservative religious leaders who had been imploring Speaker Mike Johnson to back assistance for Ukraine and Israel in fighting their wars celebrated the House’s passage of foreign aid packages Saturday, clearing the way for the measures to go to the Senate.

Brent Leatherwood, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, was among those lobbying Johnson, himself a Southern Baptist, on behalf of Ukrainian and American Baptists concerned about the plight of Ukrainian Christians. The Rest of The Story Here

  1. The current U.S. border and immigration policy issues are horrible and need to be fixed immediately. That, however, is a separate issue from Russian President Vladimir Putin engaging Ukraine in an unprovoked war in an attempt to destroy the democratic (non-communist) nation through constant attacks on civilians and alleged war crimes. The continual conflating of border control with the massive attack to destroy Ukraine by a former Soviet Union KGB officer (Putin) who threatens the use of nuclear weapons against Western nations, is, on its face, intellectual dishonesty! The U.S. immigration situation is a self-inflicted wound that we have, to one extent or another, through our voting, brought upon ourselves. I don’t agree with our country’s failure to budget and its running of a gross national debt nor its current policies about abortion, etc., but not caring how many innocent persons are killed in Ukraine is not demonstrative of wisdom or godly love. The thing that is hard to understand is why the U.S. spends billions upon billions for Ukraine and still refuses to acknowledge that the goal should be, as in any war, to WIN the war. Even the newly-authorized assistance to Ukraine is not going to allow Ukraine to “win” the war, but only to extend the war, even odds, and will result in more and more deaths. The goal of any war should be to PREVAIL, as expeditiously as possible, or one should not engage in a war in the first place. In the case of Ukraine, it had no choice. Sitting back comfortably here in the U.S. arguing about the “definition of woman” while innocent persons (many of whom are Christians) are being slaughtered by a Russian president still longing for the former Soviet Union “glory” days, is inexcusable.
