Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, To retire late, To eat the bread of painful labors; For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep. Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; They will not be ashamed When they speak with their enemies in the gate.  Psalm 127

“Wisdom calls aloud outside; she raises her voice in the open squares. She cries out in the chief concourses, at the openings of the gates in the city she speaks her words: ‘How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge.’” Proverbs 1:20-22

All this ugly taints Football, it invites trouble in many ways. Its an America party off booze and money. This is the America we live in. How about a JESUS PARTY? A party for the poor?

The American Gaming Association reports that nearly 70 million people will bet on Super Bowl LVIII, waging over $23 billion. According to the AGA, that would increase $16 billion from last year’s game.

AP Reports: Nearly 68 million American adults — about 1 in 4 — plan to bet on this year’s Super Bowl, setting a record by a wide margin, according to the gambling industry’s national trade association.

Figures released Tuesday by the American Gaming Association include bets placed with legal outlets, as well as with illegal bookies and online operations in other countries.

The volume of betting participation is projected to be 35% higher than last year, which was the previous record. More Here

From This Week:

I pray that more denominations would report the news like the Baptist Press does! They do an excellent work reporting the news from a Biblical Worldview. This is such a awesome  message on the destruction that online gambling is having on America. Satan is having his way with many. Reminds of how the casinos here in New Mexico where to have a positive effect on the state, like better schools and roads! HA! The joke is on us! New Mexico is last in education and at the bottom in child-well being! The state kills babies through abortion. How God puts up with us, I do not know! New Mexico has become so godless, as has all of America. So many are blinded by Satan. Only 4% of Americans have a Biblical Worldview, you see the results, right?

America needs a come to JESUS meeting! ALL THIS IS A HEART ISSUE! HEARTS FOR JESUS ARE LACKING MORE THAN EVER IN AMERICA!

It is estimated that Americans lost $161 billion to all forms of gambling in 2018, with $306 million of that going to online gambling. While this amount is for all types of gambling, the fastest growing kind of gambling is online. Online gambling has been increasing each year, and the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated that gain. As brick-and-mortar gambling sites saw a decrease in activity, online gambling venues took up the slack. Often, people turned to online gambling during the pandemic for entertainment during long days and nights of being stuck indoors. This created the perfect storm for gambling on the 2022 Super Bowl. It is estimated that 31 million people bet more than $7.6 billion on Super Bowl LVI, an increase of 35% over 2021.

With 71% of Americans believing that gambling is morally acceptable, and only 36% of Christians believing that sports betting is morally wrong, it is clear that America has a gambling problem. It isn’t only sports betting online that is exploding. The internet offers practically any kind of gambling that someone could desire.

The internet has certain built-in features that make gambling more dangerous for people, too. Gambling is available 24/7 to anyone with a computer and an internet connection in their homes, which is more than 77% of Americans, or more than 250 million people. More Here

Got Questions states: Sovereignty: Most gambling has an element of chance. Some gambling, like the lottery, is pure chance. Other games require more skill. Sports betting is somewhere in the middle as the serious gambler will have carefully analyzed both teams and have more than an educated guess about who will most likely win. However, those who gamble often do not recognize that God is in ultimate control. He is sovereign over everything. They often assume that everything is the result of blind chance or a combination of chance and cause and effect within a closed system. They do not always recognize that God maintains final control and we do not know what purposes He may have in the outcome of a sporting event. Without knowing His purposes, it seems foolish to bet on the outcome.

Likewise, the one who hopes to win by gambling may often lack faith in God’s ability to provide financially. This may not be true in every case, but before a Christian places a bet of any kind, he should carefully evaluate what that activity reveals about his own belief in the sovereignty of God. More Here
