The Farmers Care

‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭2:1‭-‬2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

[1] You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. [2] And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

There has to be a seed sower of God’s Word.

Someone has to take the Seed out to the hearts needing Salvation!

As the Word of God starts to grow in the softened, tilled heart, the seed shoots up with life.

As the roots start to dig into the fertile soil special care must be presented.

Their must be a farmer.

The farmer must come and water the plants.

The farmer must continue to fertilize.

Weeds start to shoot up alongside the plant, the farmer plucks them out.

Pestilence will try to leach and take the very life from this plant.

The farmer plucks the very thing he sees choking the life of the young plant.

There are many sowers of God’s Word but not enough farmers!

Who will tend to the seed of God’s Word in the willing heart?

Farming is a big responsibility. It is not an easy job, but it is important to the plant to grow and be healthy.

So many are not willing to take on the task.

A farmer watches after the tender plants. They check for the health of the plant.

They make sure that the plant has all the right nutrients it needs to grow strong.

Strong so that one day this plant will produce fruit!

The farmer is patient with the plant.

The plant grows through the Grace of God, by the Power of the Holy Spirit!

The farmer is close to ensure that it is growing in the proper manner.

The farmer truly cares for the crops.

The farmer wants to see the plant be fruitful.

Where are the farmers of God’s Holy Word!

Paul does such an amazing job to teach Timothy the ways of the Gospel.

Not just teach the Gospels but how to live them out. Then become fruitful enough to share with the next.

If you look at this passage there are four generations of people.

Paul,Timothy, many witnesses, and faithful men! It started out with Paul teaching Timothy. Guiding him to the knowledge of the truth of the Gospels of Jesus Christ.

The expectation was for Timothy to go and do the same to the many witnesses and faithful men!

Many people have knowledge of Christ.

But something we miss is right here in front of us.

It’s not just knowledge that Paul is giving, but he is giving Timothy wisdom.

Wisdom is knowledge put into use.

“And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”

Farmers have knowledge and wisdom.

They see the plant droop and knows the plant needs water.

They see the plant isn’t growing so they fertilize a bit more.

They see the bug-eaten leaves and know that it must be rid of the pests.

They see the weeds sneak up, the farmer pulls them out before it chokes the life out of the plant.

His desire is to see fruit!

Every Christian needs someone to help them mature in their walk with Christ.

We all need a farmer.

I was blessed to have met a Godly man who would be that farmer for me.

His years of experience, knowledge and wisdom can only come from trusting and following his Lord Jesus!

The love he shows is almost inexpressible. The compassion he has for the hurt and lost is something I strive to have.

He has been guiding me and continues teaching me. He has protected me, pointed out and has made me realize which weeds need to be plucked from my life!

He waters me with encouragement.

He reminds me of the Lord’s Holy Word when I need nourishment for my soul.

Every Christian needs a farmer in their life.

Over the past few years I’ve known this TRUE man of God. I have grown closer to the Lord because of this man’s care.

He has shown what it is to trust and rely on the Lord even more.

He has encouraged me when the darkness seems to overwhelm. He is always available and is trustworthy!

He has shown me what passion for the lost looks like.

And I know without a shadow of doubt that he prays for me, my family and the ministry the Lord has entrusted me to!

I am grateful and thankful.

I strive to be a Pastor like this one.

For me personally it is no other than FGGAM’s

Pastor Dewey Moede!

He has become my Spiritual farmer, mentor and one of my best friends!

The Lord puts people in your path and we don’t know why.

Sometimes it is just a casual meeting that we pay no attention to.

But it is that first encounter that starts a whole chain of events that we never thought could be possible!

But God did!

Can you even imagine all the things that Paul taught Timothy!

The private conversations. The prayers for one another.

Love, devotion and honesty!

All for the building of the Kingdom of God!

No hidden agendas.

Not for prideful gain.

Honest, loving, caring, molding, shaping all to make Timothy not just a mighty man of God but to make him into the man of God as God has intended.

There is a certain care of the farmer.

The farmer sees the potential. The plant has no idea what it is capable of, the farmer does.

Pastor Dewey has been my inspiration.

He has led and guided me in ministry and life. His wisdom has helped me make choices and decisions that I never thought were ever possible.

But above all of that it is His love!

He shines Jesus wherever he goes!

He represents the Kingdom of Heaven with every step.

He is a true Ambassador of Christ!

I strive to follow in these footsteps as Timothy followed after Paul’s!

He is a true farmer of God’s Word!

We are honored to have Pastor Dewey come and bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Reawaken City Church on Sunday January 28, 2024.

It is a blessing to have him come and share what the Lord has put on his heart, and we are excited!

I personally invite you to come and join us!

Come and hear the voice of a farmer that has no other desire than to see and watch the planted seed of God in the hearts of His people mature and be fruitful for the Kingdom of God in the Name of Jesus Christ!

Join us!
