FGGAM is pleased to announce the opening of ReAwaken City Church, a non-denominational, bible-focused Christian church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Pastor Ed and Darlene Solis have faithfully followed the calling of the Lord to bring this church forth and to serve all who will come to hear the word of God preached.
Pastor Solis’ heart is to grow and strengthen those who already know Jesus as Lord and to share the good news, the gospel of Jesus Christ, with those who are not yet walking in the fullness of Christ!
Ed and Darlene Solis are both from Albuquerque and have been married for 26 years. They have two grown children (and a future daughter-in-law). They love the Lord with all of their hearts and desire to serve God fully!
Pastor Solis has ministered for many years, beginning in 2014 as part of the men’s ministry at Calvary Chapel SW under Pastor Ray Montoya. In 2018, he was led to serve at another Albuquerque church, where his calling as a pastor was recognized and he was ordained on February 27, 2021.
Early in 2023, FGGAM’s Co-Founder, Pastor Dewey Moede, first met Pastor Solis at an Albuquerque-based men’s conference. The meeting resulted in a solid friendship between the two, and subsequently with Darlene Solis, because strong Christian leaders are sustained and tend to make better (read: wise) decisions when both husband and wife seek the Lord together!
During April 2023, Pastor Solis accepted the challenge of writing for FGGAM. His inspirational and biblically-sound articles are always well received by those who visit the website. In fact, most of his inspirational posts make the “trending articles” list very quickly.
Beginning in July 2023, Pastor Ed and Darlene Solis opened their home to all who desired to come for a weekly bible study. The bible study grew, with many of those in attendance praying in agreement about the bible study becoming a church under the leadership of Pastor Solis. The decision, subject to God’s timing and provision, was made!
During this writer’s interview of Pastor Solis several weeks ago, I asked about the church’s focus and goals. One thing he made emphatically clear was that under his leadership, all persons would be valued and that “cliques” would not be allowed to dominate any aspect of the ministry. He also said that the following scriptures would be used to guide the focus of the church:
- Equipping the Saints for the Work of Ministry and to Edify the Body of Christ.
Ephesians 4:11-16 (NKJV)
“And He Himself (Jesus) gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ [emphasis mine], till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”
