According to the Jerusalem Post, there are new details regarding the assassination of Hamas’ deputy head of the political bureau, Saleh al-Arouri (57).  Arouri was responsible for the military activities of Hamas in the West Bank and was believed to be the architect of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” – which is the name given by Hamas for the October 7, 2023 massacre.

As reported yesterday by Ynet News HERE, a Lebanese security official said that the targeting of Arouri in the Dahiyeh quarter in the southern suburbs of Beirut was carried out by an Israeli fighter jet – not by an unmanned aerial vehicle (“UAV”), as initially reported.  The unnamed Lebanese security official further said that Israel fired six guided missiles, destroying two floors of the building, including a direct hit upon the Hamas meeting room.

The destroyed offices where the Hamas meeting room was located had been previously evacuated and was reoccupied only hours before the aerial attack killing Arouri.  Lebanese authorities report that following the explosion(s), unidentified “elements” cleaned up the area before Lebanese military officials could arrive and that Hamas-related documents stored in the offices had been removed.

NBC News is also reporting in this matter, reporting that killing of Saleh al-Arouri was a warning to Iran, which arms and finances Hamas.

Matthew Levitt with the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, and who was formerly the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis at the U.S. Treasury Department and a Counterterrorism Advisor with the U.S. State Department, advised that Lebanese officials, Hamas and Hezbollah all laid “blame” for the strike killing Arouri on Israel.  Israeli officials have declined to comment.

My brothers and sisters, the method of assassination and the immediate high-level “clean up” and gathering of evidence from the attacked office location appear to suggest a highly professional operation typically associated with nation states such as Israel – though Israel has neither confirmed nor denied involvement.

The Bottom Line:  Hamas is paying the price for its evil attack upon Israel and its positions that Israel needs to be destroyed, along with the Jewish people.

Some scripture for consideration:

Genesis 12:1-3 (ESV)
The Call of Abram
Now the Lord said to Abram, “[g]o from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.  And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.  I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Deuteronomy 7:6 (NKJV)
“For you [the Jews] are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.”

Proverbs 21:15 (ESV)
“When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.”

And, let’s remember that God is just, and that the truth and victory belong to Him.  We rejoice in His love and favor in our lives, but we should NEVER take joy in the suffering of others (whom God also made in His image and likeness), even if such suffering was brought upon themselves:

Proverbs 24:16-17 (Amplified Bible)
“For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again, [b]ut the wicked stumble in time of disaster and collapse.  Do not rejoice and gloat when your enemy falls, [a]nd do not let your heart be glad [in self-righteousness] when he stumbles…”.

Praise Jesus forevermore!
