The Christian Post is reporting that Indiana parents Mary and Jeremy Cox have petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court after their trans-identified child was removed from their home by the Indiana Department of Child Services (“IDCS”).  The child’s parents are devout Christians who faced the mandated removal of their child from their home in June 2021 following disagreements about the child’s gender identity.

The IDCS opened an investigation after the parents refused to use their son’s self-declared female name and pronouns after he decided to start identifying as a girl.  The decision to remove their son from the home was upheld by the Indiana Court of Appeals.  The Indiana Supreme Court subsequently declined to review the case, thereby prompting the petition to the U.S. Supreme Court.

My brothers and sisters, the importance of this matter is hard to overstate.  The mandating of unbiblical and unethical laws which forcibly remove children from the custody of reportedly upstanding and God-fearing parents is no longer simply theoretical or a possibility – it is reality.

The secular state is doing the bidding of the evil one by forcibly pushing political and scientifically-dubious medical determinations that have the effect of destroying the family.  We must pray that this evil madness ends.

Please be assured that this writer knows, sadly, that intervention in children’s families is sometimes for the best, as violence, malnutrition, drug use and mental health issues are all-too-common in today’s society.  Removing a child from his or her home, temporarily or permanently, may be the best choice in certain justifiable circumstances; however, in this case, the matter seems to be purely ideological, political and anti-Christian.

As Christian believers, we should pray and we must not be silent in the face of such runaway civil government, asserting it has the right or even the “moral high ground” to supplant parents’ best judgment in raising their children.

Make no mistake about it.  This situation represents an attack on the Christian faith.  The more such rulings are allowed to stand, the more precedent is established in civil law, making such laws, rules, ordinances and policies even harder to be declared unlawful and overturned.

“Make no mistake about it.  This situation represents an attack on the Christian faith.”

As we pray, let’s remember that scripture informs us that if we believe and pray in the name of Jesus, that the Father hears and answers our prayer.  Nothing is impossible for God!  As believers, and not to taken casually, we have been given the privilege of binding and loosing on earth and in heaven – such as binding the evil forces attempting to destroy the nuclear family and God-given parental responsibility, and simultaneously loosing the power of the Holy Spirit into this situation for justice to be done and all glory to be given to God!

Matthew 17:20 (NKJV)
In speaking to the disciples, Jesus said “…if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘[m]ove from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

Matthew 18:18 (NKJV)
“Assuredly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Matthew 18:19 (NKJV)
“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”

As mentioned in The Christian Post’s article, scripture commands fathers (parents) to bring up their children in the training and admonition of the Lord.

Ephesians 6:1-4 (NKJV)
Children and Parents
“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.  ‘Honor your father and mother,’ which is the first commandment with promise:  ‘that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.’  And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord [emphasis mine].”

And, this is a strong word, but the bible warns us (including parents) to avoid that which would cause children to sin.

Matthew 18:6 (NKJV)
“But whoever causes one of these little ones [children] who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
