CHURCH LEADERS reported last week about a beautiful moment on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at a Kansas City, Kansas, Walmart, where a “flash mob” began singing worship songs and Christmas carols.
The event went viral on Instagram, after Pastor Kelly and Esther Lohrke of The Cure Church posted a video with the caption “[t]his is what happens when our church goes on a trip to Walmart.”
The video shows Esther Lohrke leading about 60 congregants from the church in the singing of worship songs and Christmas carols inside the produce section of their local Walmart. Shoppers, workers, and even police officers can be seen joining in the singing as others stopped what they were doing to film.

There is something about the season of Christmas in which patience and love abound! Praise Jesus that despite today’s fast-paced and often self-absorbed society, the “reason for the season” has not been forgotten. What a blessing to see all the hearts which are still softened by, and sensitive to, the love of Christ! Amen!
