The Times of Israel reports that a relative of two young hostages released by Hamas on Wednesday, Yagil (12) and Yaakov (16), said that Hamas not only drugged the children, but “branded” them (as they did to other children) by sitting them on a motorcycle and intentionally burning their legs on the exhaust pipe – to identify them in case of escape.

This sort of abuse, including the lack of sufficient food, is reportedly happening to other hostages taken by Hamas, according to family members of other returned hostages.

Dr. Itai Pessach, Director of Safra Children’s Hospital at Sheba Medical Center, stated that he heard testimonies of freed hostages that were “hard to bear,” saying that the former hostages have “undergone hardship, physically and mentally,” and that he needed to “make their cry heard.”  He was unwilling to share details due to patient privacy concerns, saying that it was for the former hostages themselves to tell their stories to the public.

The Jerusalem Post is similarly reporting in this matter.  The Jerusalem Post article may be read HERE.

My brothers and sisters, the Hamas/Israel war is again being prosecuted.  The temporary cease fire has brought to light some of the reality of what Hamas is doing with the hostages it took on October 7, 2023.

Let’s continue to pray for God’s mighty protection and favor upon those fighting or suffering the evil that is Hamas.  May the Lord intervene in the hearts of the men and women of Hamas, and of those who otherwise support Hamas’ actions.

It is beyond this writer’s comprehension how so many persons, despite the relatively-recent holocaust of WWII, and including many right here in the United States, would unashamedly support and side with Hamas against God’s chosen people.

Sadly, the evil one is deceiving many.  But as Christians, we know the Truth and the Answer, and His name is Jesus!

Some scripture to consider:

Genesis 12:3 (NKJV)
The LORD said to Abram (later Abraham):  “I will bless those who bless you, [a]nd I will curse him who curses you; [a]nd in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Psalm 33:12 (KJV)
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom [H]e hath chosen for [H]is own inheritance.”

Psalm 122:6-7 (Amplified Bible)
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:  ‘May they prosper who love you [holy city].  May peace be within your walls [a]nd prosperity within your palaces.’”

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, [a]nd lean not on your own understanding; [i]n all your ways acknowledge Him, [a]nd He shall direct your paths.”

Proverbs 21:15 (ESV)
“When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.”

Zechariah 2:8-10 (NKJV)
“For thus says the Lord of hosts:  ‘He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.  For surely I will shake My hand against them, and they shall become spoil for their servants.  Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me.  Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion [Jerusalem]!  For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,’ says the Lord.”

John 10:10 (NKJV)
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.  I [Jesus] have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

And, let’s be sure to remember:

Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV)
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, [and] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
