AM radio is so very important to rural America! I also pray for all the AM Christian radio stations spreading the GOSPEL! Thank the LORD for the NAB!

I started in radio in 1978 at the Minnesota state news network. The majority of the network stations were AM at the time. The first radio station I worked at was KGCX AM in Sidney, Montana starting in 1979. KGCX reached into Canada, being a 5,000 watt flame thrower, as we would say in the day! I could write a book about my time as a little boy growing up listening to AM radio and then becoming an announcer! WOW! Thank YOU LORD! Then a PASTOR! GLORY!

AM (amplitude modulation) Radio, in a form that we would recognize today, began in 1906, when Reginald A. Fessenden transmitted the first broadcast containing speech and music from Bryant Rock, MA. Reginald built a complete system of wireless transmitters and receivers using amplitude modulation, or AM radio waves.

In the wake of a bitter blog post targeting the radio industry from an automaker interest group, the NAB is firing back on behalf of broadcasters and AM radio. The NAB puts claims that leaving AM in electric vehicles will cost the auto industry $3.8 billion by 2030 under the microscope.

That $3.8 billion price tag was named in a Center for Automotive Research study funded by the Alliance for Automotive Innovation. The study comes as some EV makers desperately wish to halt the AM For Every Vehicle Act as it nears the finish line in Congress.
