Newsmax is reporting that the United States (“US”) is sending the USS Gerald R. Ford – the US Navy’s newest aircraft carrier – along with the cruiser USS Normandy and the destroyers USS Thomas Hudner, USS Ramage, USS Carney and USS Roosevelt, to the Eastern Mediterranean in support of Israel.  The US is also augmenting the US Air Force’s F-35, F-15, F-16 and A-10 fighter aircraft squadrons in the region.

According to US Secretary of State Lloyd J. Austin III, “the US maintains ready forces globally to further reinforce this deterrence posture, if required.”  Secretary Austin also advised that the Biden administration would be “rapidly providing the Israel Defense Forces (“IDF”) with additional equipment and resources, including munitions,” which are expected to arrive in a matter of days.

Fox News is reporting that the Wall Street Journal (“WSJ”) published an article today asserting that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had been coordinating Hamas’ attack on Israel for weeks, and reportedly gave the final go-ahead for the attack last Monday (10/2/2023) in Beirut – although US officials are not verifying this claim at this time.

My brothers and sisters, as this writer reported yesterday, the surprise attack by Palestinian militants on Israel suggests a massive intelligence failure, as the Israeli government appeared blindsided by the infiltration of Hamas fighters across the southern border and Hamas’ assault by air, land and sea.

Considering the increasing certainty that Iran has directly supported and coordinated Hamas’ attack upon Israel, there may now be sufficient impetus and justification for the IDF to unilaterally end Iran’s continuing threat of producing and using nuclear weapons – meaning the destruction of such nuclear weapons or dual-use facilities.  This would be in addition to whatever other military targets require the IDF’s attention as a result of Hamas’ attack on Israel.

The worldwide ramifications of this war in Israel, especially if the conflict expands into a regional war (or worse), are impossible to overstate.  The direct involvement of Iran in any military hostilities has the potential to upend the geopolitical norms of the Middle East, with unpredictable results.

It’s exactly this sort of situation in which communist and politically-challenging countries such as North Korea, Russia and China might be tempted to initiate or increase military action against US allies or other free nations, such as South Korea, Ukraine and Taiwan.

The war in Israel is going to further stretch the US budget and military assets, considering the US’ support for Ukraine’s war with Russia, and now Israel’s war with Hamas/Hezbollah and Iran (directly or indirectly).

Please continue to pray for a quick, just and long-lasting resolution to this war, with peace in the land of Israel, peace in the hearts of the Palestinians, and the end of hate, murders, hostage taking and terrorist groups or terrorist-sponsoring nations such as such as Hamas and Iran.  Lord Jesus, we trust in You and will not fear the evil one, for You have overcome the world!

Isaiah 41:8-10 (NKJV)
“But you, Israel, are My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, [t]he descendants of Abraham My friend.  You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, [a]nd called from its farthest regions, [a]nd said to you, ‘You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away:  Fear not, for I am with you; [b]e not dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you, [y]es, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand [emphasis mine].'”

John 16:32-33 (ESV)
“Behold, the hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave [M]e alone.  Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with [M]e.  I have said these things to you, that in [M]e you may have peace.  In the world you will have tribulation.  But take heart; I have overcome the world [emphasis mine].”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
