The Times of Israel reports that during a meeting today (10/24/2023) of the United Nations (“UN”) Security Council, Israel’s UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan called for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to resign. During the Security Council’s meeting, Guterres stated that “it is important to also recognize the attacks by Hamas did not happen in a vacuum” and appeared to suggest the impetus for the Hamas terror group’s devastating October 7, 2023 attack on Israel was the Jewish state’s continued control of Palestinian territories.
Ambassador Erdan said that Secretary-General Guterres’ comments “constitute a justification for terrorism and murder” and that “it’s sad that a person with such views is the head of an organization that arose after the Holocaust. It’s really unfathomable.”

The Jerusalem Post reports that Israel’s Foreign Minister Eli Cohen cancelled a meeting with UN Secretary-General Guterres, saying that “after October 7th [2023] there is no room for a balanced approach. Hamas must be erased from the world.”
Israel’s UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan called for Guterres’ resignation and claimed there was no point in talking to those who show compassion for the most terrible atrocities committed against the citizens of Israel and the Jewish people.

My brothers and sisters, the world is in a raging spiritual war between the forces of good and evil. Otherwise intelligent persons can’t seem to see the forest for the trees, somehow managing to find equivalency in Israel’s carefully executed and ongoing response to Hamas’ attack against Israel October 7, 2023, and the murderous and wonton actions of Hamas.
It’s clear that the evil one has successfully deceived many, including world leaders, such that World War III is more than a remote possibility.
As Christians, we have no need to fear, but we absolutely must seek the Lord in prayer and stand for God’s chosen people, just as we would (righteously) fight against any country attempting to destroy the United States and wantonly murder our citizens without regard for civilian status.
