One Hundred, One Million, Plus More…

The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. (Deuteronomy 28:12)

Good morning beautiful people, good morning. I recently re-discovered a picture from my childhood of me picking potatoes. I must admit picking potatoes in the harvest wasn’t my favorite position that I held. It seemed we were up very early, and a truck would come pick us up and we would ride on the back of that truck to the field. It would still be dark outside; the morning light hadn’t shone through quite yet. I remember after picking a barrel of potatoes, I would put a ticket on the barrel that would identify my number that was assigned to me. It was hard work, but it earned us some money for school clothes. Seems like forever ago now. At my sister’s memorial service, someone shared she had picked over a hundred barrels of potatoes a day. Someone else that worked in the field with her spoke up and said that was accurate. She could pick over a hundred barrels a day and more.

I think of how life has changed over the years. It’s harvest time here in Northern Maine and the farmers are working the fields. Not many potato pickers, anymore. Now when I hear the word harvest, I think of harvest of souls. God’s Word tells us not to grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9) The morning light hasn’t shown through quite yet, but I want to pray for a harvest of souls. One hundred, one million, plus more.

Let’s Pray:

Father, thank you for the harvest. What’s happening in the natural signifies what’s happening in the spiritual. Thank you for removing the veil for the people’s eyes that the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Corinthians 4:4)

Father, draw many to yourself this day. May the satellites, your people and every means possible to mankind, bring the good news, the gospel of Jesus Christ all across this globe. Amen.

Have a blessed day God’s most beautiful people. Share your faith.
