On my way home from preaching the Open Door Bible Church in Los Alamos yesterday I started to see the smoke from I-25. The closer I got I knew is was a huge fire. We are praying for the safety of all the firefighters. This photo is from our home in Taylor Ranch at about 3pm yesterday.

High Fire Danger in New Mexico Continues: Rio Arriba County community under ‘Set’ status due to Black Feather Fire

The Albuquerque-Bernalillo County Air Quality Program is issuing a Health Alert due to smoke from a structure fire in Mesa del Sol. Plastics are burning and the smoke contains hazardous air pollutants.
West to southwest southwest winds may push the smoke over the southeast quadrant of the metro area. Later this evening, winds will come out of the east to southeast and push the smoke into the South Valley and the West Side of Albuquerque.
This smoke is unhealthy for everyone and people should limit outdoor activity tonight in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County.Effective: 5:00 PM on 8/6/2023
