“Humiliated, the son finally realized what he was doing, and he thought, ” There are many workers at my father’s house who have all the food they want with plenty to spare.  They lack nothing.  Why am I here dying of hunger, feeding these pigs, and eating their slop?

Luke 15:17 TPT

Driving Down the street with cars all around, I saw it! The traffic swirled all around me, but it was as if nothing else mattered. Did God place it there for me that day? The thought quickly came to my mind, and all I could think of was I had to take a picture. I knew it wasn’t safe, but I was compelled to do it anyway. Just yesterday, I had a day from, well, you know, where a day ” from hell” where the negativity and the invitation to agree with the enemy won that day.

The following day as I was driving, all I could see in front of me was the billboard sign that read “SEE THE GOOD.” I was not in a place in my mind where I could see the good yet, but I can say this day was better than the day before. Could God care that much about me that he would place words right in front of me to jar me out of my funk, to help me change the way I was thinking? I do not know about you, but sometimes I find myself in pig pen mindsets of negativity churning in my head.

Round and round we go, the enemy continually whispering his lies and suggestions to agree with in my ears. I believe in God; I have been filled with the Holy; Spirit. I am a born-again believer.

I wondered, “Does every individual battle this human conundrum”? And if so, what do we do as believers when progress with God is made positively and, at the same time, we are invited to partner with the enemy’s voice?

In Ephesians, God’s word says we don’t wrestle with flesh and blood but with the principalities and powers of darkness. The enemy is not always obvious but sly. He tries to slip in and pose a thought through a hurt, wound, or offense. He then says, “Let’s talk” An invitation is presented in a situation in our head to trick us into believing his lie.  Taking the bait can lead us down a road of devastation and disappointment, and depression. When faced with this moment of good versus evil, Satan wants to remind us of everyone who has done us wrong and who has not been there for us in our times of need. Even God!

We can and will overcome when we look to God’s word to define who we are. Each time the enemy attempts to bait us with negative thoughts, we have the power through the Holy Spirit to have another thought!

SCRIPTURE REMINDER

So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable, and admirable. beautiful. and respectful, pure, and holy, merciful, and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always.

Philippians 4:8

REVELATION

Lord, you cheer me on to win the battle in my mind. When negative thoughts are invited to enter, you have given us the power to refuse the bait and have another thought. Thank you for knowing that when the enemy is at work, you are at work too! Open our eyes, ears, and mouth to see, hear and say what you say and think about us. Thank you for the friends you send our way, for scripture and words in the sky that remind us to” SEE THE GOOD.”
