For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God, it is our hope.

1 Corinthians 1:18

The world is getting worse every day. Hate, immorality, violence, corruption, and much more. It seems to be the norm.

In our best effort, we must change and seek God. It’s arrogant to think you can do life without Christ.

The scripture we just read stating that the cross of Christ is foolishness, in verse 19 and 20 goes on to give another reason folks get mad when you mention it;

Vs 19, “ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,

and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.”

Vs 20, “Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?”

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

1 Corinthians 1:27

Bottom line, the message of the cross cuts to the heart of human boasting, selfishness and pride.

It brings to nothing the wisdom of the wise.

It silences the brilliance of the scholars and gurus… all who are mighty in their own inflated eyes.

God has ordained that lasting wisdom comes from the preaching of the cross – for the power and wisdom of God is from above and can only be found in Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Period!

The cross shows the power of Jesus Christ. The cross is our hope.

As time approaches, it’s harder to reach a lost world. This is because scripture tells us when we get closer to the end and because of the increase in wickedness, the love of most will grow cold. Meaning, that peoples hearts will harden to the word of God.

Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Matthew 24:12-13

If you noticed, when you turn on the television or even get on Facebook, all kinds of nonsense is flying at you. The minute you mention Christ, it offends people, and the reason He is offensive is because people don’t want to face the reality of their own sin, they don’t want to be told what to do. They love the things of the dark.

They don’t want a “boss” telling them what they can, and cannot do.

If you noticed, since the time that Christ was born, they’ve been trying to kill him. In fact, at that time the king put out an edict that all baby boys were to be killed.

Some things never change, but that just shows that there’s power in Christ, or they would’ve just left him alone.

When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”

Matthew 2:13

He willingly died on the cross. He took our place. He bore our sin because every one of us has sinned and “fall short of the glory of God” This was the whole reason satan was trying to get rid of Christ, since birth…but to no avail.

God does not merely declare His love. He demonstrates it on the cross.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 5:8

For Christ crucified is the foundation of all my hopes, the fountain of all my joys. The message of the Cross ia a powerful one. ✝️
