PRAY OVER THIS

“For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

PONDER THIS

God is not going to pour His wrath out upon His children. That doesn’t mean we’re not going to have tribulation, because coming events cast the shadows ahead of time, and Jesus said, “In the world you will have tribulation” (John 16:33). We’ll find that it’s going to be open season on Bible‑believing Christians until Jesus comes, but He’s going to come and take us out, and then He’s going to pour out His wrath on this Earth.

The Bible calls it the great day of His wrath. The flood did not come until Noah was in the ark. (See Genesis 7.) Fire and brimstone did not fall upon Sodom and Gomorrah until Lot was taken out (Genesis 19), and the wrath of Jehovah will not be poured out on the Earth until the Church is taken out. It’s going to be dark for Israel; it’s going to look like the end. The kingdoms of this world will be gathered there at Armageddon to obliterate Israel. And just when 666 thinks he has it all made, 777 is coming from Heaven. Jesus is coming again.*

  • What feelings arise in you as you read today’s passage and consider the coming wrath of God on those who don’t know Him?
  • How does this give you an urgency to align your heart with God? How does it give you urgency to tell others about Him?

*666 represents the Antichrist; 777 represents perfection in Jesus Christ.
