The Lord foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.

Psalm 33:10-11

Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are regarded as dust on the scales; he weighs the islands as though they were fine dust.

Isaiah 40:15

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

Proverbs 19:21

We may plan our course, but God’s plans are final and he decides what plans succeed.

Many of the goals we set may seem as though they should be perfect for our situation, but sometimes these goals and dreams are thwarted by God. And that’s usually for our own good.

Recently, someone in my family was told that they could not have access to anything they needed and was rightfully theirs. I told this person receiving the negative news, that God and God alone directs his path.

You see, someone can make plans against you, but it’s the Lords purpose that will prevail. Only God directs our steps. Only God paves our way. We may not always understand his plans for us, but rest assured, they’re perfect.

This does not mean that we’re to walk  aimlessly just waiting for God to do everything for us. We should strive to live according to his will for us and follow his commands.

Through scripture, we know that he is working on our behalf to make things happen for us. That’s wonderful news!

It’s the same with rulers, leaders and kings. They may think they’re in charge, but behind the scenes, there is a God who is not worried about it and is not shaken, who is directing things and can thwart their plans quickly.

“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might.”

He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.

Daniel 2:20-21

“There is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”

God has used evil rulers to bring judgment on His people and bring them back to righteousness.

Satan also causes us to question Gods plans. He will always send someone to tell you something different than what God said.He is the accuser of the brethren.  Saying to you things like, “Did God really say that?” Or “I will ruin you.” Don’t panic, just dismiss the ignorance!

And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.

Revelation 12:10

Satan does not want us to have Gods grace or to believe Gods plans. He was a liar from the beginning. He is known as the father of all lies.

You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

John 8:44

I’m also a firm believer that there are times that when we missed out on our plans, it’s because God had intervened to save us from disaster.

But through it all, God is sovereign over all!

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.”

Psalm 37:23

The Lord is in control of the life of a righteous man, and the Lord delights in his course of life.

Remember that it’s God who leads, God who directs, God who provides and God who restores. He alone!

Don’t ever let someone scare you into thinking God can’t deliver his established plans.

Many Blessings,

Connie
