This has been in the works for years. I left radio after 42 years, 11 years ago this coming August. I was managing KIMM Christian radio in Albuquerque. It was a hard 8 years, it wore me down. I had to fight ownership to keep KKIM technically solid. We were last on the totem pole. Many owners have been disregarding their AM stations for years. The audio feed of many AM’s is of poor quality. So it’s not only the car makers, its many owners of AM stations. The money has been, and still is in FM stations. Even here in Albuquerque, the owners took powerhouse KOB AM and put it also on the FM band, knowing the downward trend of AM radio. FGGAM still airs our ministry program on KDOM AM in Windom, Minnesota, my hometown. ‘House of Hope’ also runs on their FM.
