Time To Dance…

You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you forever. Psalm 30:11-12

Good morning beautiful people. To everything there is a season the scriptures tell us in the book of Ecclesiastes. Last evening some friends and I talked about joy and one dear friend shared she needed more joy. I must admit I could use an extra dose too.

I shared with my friends how I visited a church, (in another region) and they took one look at me and said she needs joy. They started swinging and twirling me in every direction, and I thought I was going to die instead of receiving joy. I did need the joy though and as I was driving home joy hit me and I had to pull over for forty-five minutes or so. All I could do was laugh. I am more reserved and dancing, well I grew up not dancing. Dancing doesn’t come easy to me. I grew up believing dancing was wrong. In my teen years when I drank a lot of alcohol, I gave dancing a try. I don’t remember how that turned out.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance. (Ecclesiastes3:1-4) Does this say dance? Verse 22 of the same chapter says this: So, I saw that there is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work, because that is their lot. For who can bring them to see what will happen after them?

Let’s enjoy our lives, our day, our work and take some time to dance.

Let’s Pray:

Father, thank you that the joy of the Lord is our strength. Thank you for all the different seasons of our lives. Father, thank you for turning our wailing into dancing.

Father, show us great and mighty things as we continue to lift our eyes unto you. The author and finisher of our faith. Amen.

Have a blessed day God’s most beautiful people. Find some time to dance.
