Your mother is like a vine in your vineyard, planted by the waters: she was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.

Ezekiel 19:10

I can honestly say that my Mom has taught me so much about life and prayer. She has grown so much in Christ and has an extraordinary testimony.

She raised 6 kids and we were all very close in age. She’s strong, tough, a disciplinarian, but most of all she was our strongest supporter and protector… still is

This is the scripture that best describes my Mom.

“Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Proverbs 31:28-31

Mothers are a gift to us because they show us what God’s love is like. In a loving momma, we’ll see Christ. We will see someone who works long hours, who gathers her children like a mother hen, who protects her cubs like a mother bear. Who rises early to tend to the family needs.

Mothers help develop personalities, shape  attitudes, and teach us that Gods love is perfect and that He loves us fiercely.

Momma’s have the ability to say “I love you”, with such an outpouring of Gods precious love.

Besides the physical care of our children, Mom’s are to care for the souls of their children as well. Not only to nurture physically, but spiritually as well.  That’s quite an important job, one most mom’s take very seriously.

Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table.

Psalm 128:3

As Mother’s, we nurture our children, pray for our children and teach then to follow and trust in God. You can’t necessarily control what they do as adults, but you can help steer them in the right direction, towards God.

“She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”

Proverbs 31:26

Proverbs 1:8-9: “Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.”

“As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you”

Isaiah 66:13

A momma also carries you in prayer.

Never underestimate the power of a praying mother, interceding on behalf of her children!

Happy Mother’s Day!
