Mike Did Not Die Alone

FGGAM Shares a Biblical Worldview Everyday:

“The Biblical worldview says there is a God—One who is personal, powerful and caring—who created the world and everything in it. It states unequivocally that man is created in God’s image, living in essence as God’s co-regent over creation. Mankind—born and unborn, rich and poor, able and disabled—has intrinsic worth. Almighty God is a sovereign God, ruler over nations, states, empires, and governments. He is to be worshiped and obeyed through the precepts and principles revealed in His infallible Word. He not only exists, but He is sovereign over all of history according to His wisdom and purposes, and He is intimately involved in every aspect of life.”

Franklin Graham, “A Biblical Worldview in Today’s Culture”

I want to share with you a story about Mike. I officiated the funeral service yesterday for him. Will you die alone? Mike did not have any family, they say he had a son, but nobody knows where he is or what happened to him.

I have learned so much in the last two years by doing so very many funeral services. God has taught me much and people have taught me so very, very much. It really has impacted my life. I could write a book on what my experiences have taught me. Life is so very precious.

Mike did not die alone. He had no family, but he had 10 nurses/caretakers that came yesterday to pay tribute to him, Mike, they tell me, invented the ‘sticky note,’ he was a Chemical engineer.

There were two nurses, Matty and Ann Marie that really rallied around Mike in his final days and took care of the service for Mike.

My wife, my angel Sharon is a nurse, our angel daughter Gretchen is a respiratory therapist. They both have the biggest hearts ever for people. Nurses and caretakers have the biggest hearts.

How big is your heart for all people?

Mike did not die alone, because 10 people cared.

I often quote Marl Twain, “Live your life so that at your funeral even the undertaker cries.” Those 10 nurses and this old preacher did so yesterday.

Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Romans 12:10 NLT
