Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”

1 Chronicles 16:34

Thanksgiving Day;

Turkey in the oven, pies cooling, dressing and gravy set in their ceramic bowls.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on television. And the fragrance in the house is absolutely amazing.

The desserts look like something straight out of a Martha Stewart magazine. From table settings to presentation, you’re now ready to celebrate.

Have you ever stopped to think about the real reason we celebrate?

Thanksgiving Day is basically celebrating the harvest and other blessings of the past year. Giving God thanks for a bountiful year.

No matter who you are or what you’ve been through, there is always something to be thankful for!

Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

Psalm  103:2

When was the last time you stopped to remember all of His benefits? If you ever experienced forgiveness, or the fact that you’re living a meaningful and full life.

Then there’s Your health, your job, car, home, children and grandchildren.

There is also Your freedom to worship God and many other things you can think of, I’m sure.

These are all things to be grateful for. There is nothing that encourages praise like gratitude!

One of the best qualities we can develop is that of Thankfulness. There are few characteristics that will influence our lives more than this.

Thankfulness can effect every area of our lives in a wonderful way, so begin to thank God for all the blessings he has given you instead of dwelling on the negative things in your life.

Then, watch Him do his thing… the ultimate blessings are to come.

As you review this past year, think of some blessing God has bestowed upon you. It helps stop bitterness, self pity and discouragement.

It protects us from letting our lives be defined by what the worlds view of happiness is, and by what we don’t have.

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Today, I urge you to give thanks with a grateful heart. Look at all Gods blessings in your life!

I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.

1 Corinthians 1:4

Happy Thanksgiving 🍁
