Pandemic Flaw

Why is the world in such a mess?    If you do not think it is, you are not paying attention!    The world has always been in a mess, almost since the beginning.   The problem is simple.    We live in a fallen world.    What does that mean?    It means that everyone is flawed.    You’re flawed.    I’m flawed.    We are all flawed.

Eventually all of our imperfections begin to show!    The Bible calls our flawed condition “the sin nature.”   It is in pandemic.   However, there is a cure.   The cure is provided by Jesus Christ who died on the Cross to atone for our sins.    But there’s more.     Atonement has been attained by Jesus, but we have to assist ourselves to the cure.    Two stages:    Repentance and faith.

The Apostle Paul says “repentance toward God and faith in our LORD Jesus Christ;” that’s how you do it!   (Acts 20:21)

Repentance presumes sorrow for our sin, turning away from it (changing) and turning to God.

Faith believes, and trusts.    It believes the Gospel about salvation through Jesus’ death and resurrection.    It is about trust in God to forgive us and give us eternal life.

Paul says that “if you will confess that Jesus is LORD and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”  (Romans 10:9)   That is both easy and hard.

It is easy because we do not work for our salvation.    It is hard because we do not want to confess our flaws and turn from them.     We are too enamored with them.   We enjoy them too much.     It is also hard because confessing that Jesus is LORD means living like He really is your LORD!

Think about it!
