Adrian Rogers posted this today: Benjamin Franklin said, “Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom.” John Adams wrote, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” Our Republic is by a people of character, for a people of character, and only a people of character can keep it. Are you living in a way that strengthens our nation as “people of character”? Are you living according to 1 Peter 2:15-16?

THIS REPORT IS FROM CHURCH LEADERS:

Although news organization on Saturday declared former Vice President Joe Biden the winner of the 2020 U.S. presidential election, President Trump and many of his supporters are casting doubt about the outcome. Because Trump’s attorneys are pursuing legal challenges in several states, the Republican incumbent hasn’t yet conceded—a step that’s a tradition, not a constitutional requirement.

How to proceed—and whether to concede—is now a hotly debated topic among Trump’s family members, administration officials, and evangelical supporters. Here’s what some prominent people of faith are saying as America faces a post-election divide:

To Concede or Not to Concede? Evangelical Leaders Respond to Election Results

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”    (I John 5:14)

“Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore!”
(I Chronicles 16:11)

“Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer”   (Romans 12:12)

“. . . The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”        (James 5:16b)

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”                            (II Chronicles 7:14)

I want to qualify my use of the word “Intercessor” in the title and thought.  An Intercessor is a selfless believer who cares first about God’s will as it relates to needs of people and nations of people.

“Brood” or “Brooding.”      The one definition of the word brood that I am leaning on from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary says:   “To produce by or as if by incubation – hatch/birth”   In brooding prayer, the Intercessor who walks in the Spirit becomes the incubator to bring the Father’s will to life; “Thy will be done.”

Genesis 1:2 mentions that “the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”   Moved could be, brooding over, hovering over, or even fluttering over.     It is a creating, bringing life to that which is in the Father’s will.

Christian brooding is a type of praying taking on many forms.   It may use formal prayer for certain, but also it may take the platform of a meditative, overwhelming presence of needing to bring life to the burden felt in ones spirit.   It will thereby take on the energy of “praying without ceasing.”   The need consumes the Intercessor, and the need is always that the Father’s will in any situation be birthed in the fullness of time; nothing less.

A faithful, Spirit-filled Intercessor will brood, meditate, on situations, needs, problems, questions of life that need answers; burdens which become prayers, troubled thoughts seeking solution.   This incubating prayer may be filled with unspoken praise and unspoken questions and requests.

This may actually be the times the Holy Spirit is most actively praying in and through you; this will be your most fervent and effective praying.   It is a burden of the heart that will not release you night and day until resolution is met.

Beloved American Christian, our Heavenly Father needs/desires/requires Intercessors who are not distracted by their own wills, desires, or preferences to intercede for a broken nation.   The only thing that matters is the Father’s will coming to life.  We must die to self and submit to everything God.  Nothing else matters.   Nothing else heals and delivers.   Seek God using His lead.   Seek God using God’s Word.   Seek God using quiet stillness of thought, groans, and prayer.

I personally am seeking the truth of the American situation, whatever that truth may be, to come to light so vividly that it must be accepted as truth by the multitudes.   I am seeking in conjunction, that God’s Church in America might be dramatically revived through brokenness into humility becoming a catalyst for a national Spiritual Awakening seeing millions saved.

Church, we must get this right!   Pray On!
