Why Do People Place Such Hope in Politicians?

One of my mottoes is this: “I have come to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable”

By the way “ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS” is one of my all-time favorite songs to sing! Now it is also MY CALL TO ALL OF US!!!

Man, oh man! I have been posting on this and preaching on this for years! Wake up America! Jesus is the answer not politics! We have more problems in this country and world than I can count, many of them would not be exist if it wasn’t for politics! Politics has helped make a mess of this Country and World!!! Politics is strangling this Country. JESUS!!! JESUS!!! I am a man of JESUS! Not a man of Politics!

Years ago when I was manager of KKIM Christian Radio, I was asked by some to run for office, God said NO, I am to be a Watchman on the Wall, then God made me a preacher and then formed FGGAM!

Some of the things coming out of the mouths of politicians, on both sides of the aisle, are embarrassing to God, showing an unbelieving world what it wants to see from Christians. Christians behaving badly. My Daddy always said, “Before you criticize someone, clean up your own backyard first.”

One of the greatest journalistic sins being committed by the media is the 10 second ‘sound bite’ and then the “sources tell us” Too many Americans soak that jink up and do not do their research, they go off on their emotions.

And then do not get me started on Christian Media!!!!! It is so horrible that so many do not have their own LOCAL NEWS DEPARTMENT! Where is the commitment to the community you are to serve??? When I managed KKIM Christian Radio in Albuquerque we had Hall-of- Famer Frank Haley, myself and a team of volunteer reporters such as Pastors Paul Holt, Leonard Navarre, Bill Ruhl, Mark Tross, Larry Moss and others. We did 45 minutes of news every night at 5PM, an hour on Saturdays! Before that when I was with WFRN Christian Radio in Elkhart, Indiana, Ed Moore gave me the title of VP of News, we had Hall-of-Famer Marv Boone and up to 4 to 5 other reporters.

We always strived to have the best news team and content since we were representing God!

Here at FGGAM we are up most days from 2am to 3am to report on the days news. We pray before posting. We serve 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. This is my dream news department, always on duty, watchman on the wall!

I got sick when an owner of Christian Radio station told me last year that most all Christian stations have cut their local news departments and even their local newscasts.

Also what about some of these programs on Christian Radio and TV????!!!??? Some of what is coming from these Pastors is not Biblical!!!

What happened?

From Charles Stanley:

A Need for Spiritual Discernment

Philippians 1:3-11

In Philippians 1:8-11, Paul says he wants the believers at Philippi to grow in their knowledge of God so they can choose the best way to live. Our heavenly Father doesn’t want us living by feelings or sight, so He provides the gift of discernment—the capacity to judge situations and determine what is His best for us.

To live in God’s will, we must have a discerning spirit. He wants us to walk in a manner that both brings Him glory and blesses us with joy and peace. Jesus will reveal the path to anyone who asks, but we must be able to judge what is of Him and what’s not—then we can avoid avenues that merely seem right. Remember, many opportunities and situations that look good aren’t the Lord’s will.

A lot of information seems true but is actually false. We must be able to distinguish between the two. It would be unwise to accept everything we hear on the internet, radio, or television. Counsel from influential people, the media, and even the pulpit must be evaluated against the only reliable measure for spiritual discernment: God’s Word.

Bible in One Year: Genesis 42-45

Many in America have made Politics, Sports, movie stars, their God. Only 21% or less of America goes to Church now. How many were at those NFL games and watched them on TV, internet and on their phone yesterday? How many Americans slept in yesterday?

I get emails everyday from Politicians asking me to give them money to run! What happens to all the money when they drop out?

Why do people place such hope in politicians?

Jan 13, 2020

From the writings of the Rev. Billy Graham

Q: Regardless of political party, why do people place such hope in politicians and is it the hope of America, and for that fact, the world? — P.W.

A: The names of politicians, sports figures, inventors, and others from all walks of life come and go. While their names may continue in history, their impact is not lasting. Only one name is eternal and worthy of our praise and attention; the name of the Lord God, Jesus Christ. The prophet Daniel who served the king of the dominant power in the world declared: “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His” (Daniel 2:20). He did not declare the name King Nebuchadnezzar as the almighty one; only God. Isaiah, the prophet, also exalted Him as “the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy” (Isaiah 57:15).

The strength of nations is not found in the names and personalities of men and women, but in God alone who is sovereign. No form of government has been able to establish righteousness, justice, and peace, the three elements without which we can never have continued national prosperity or international peace.

Our government is certainly going to fall like a rope of sand if unsupported by the moral fabric of God’s Word. The moral structure in our country grew from Judeo-Christian roots. When those values are applied, they produce moral fruits. But if that structure disappears, the moral sentiment that shapes our nation’s goals will disappear with it.

Our government needs prayer. Our leaders need prayer. Our schools need prayer. Our families need prayer. We must be people of prayer and express thankfulness for the blood of Christ that purchased men for God from “every tribe and language and people and nation” (Revelation 5:9).

Will we ever achieve peace on earth?

Jan 11, 2020

From the writings of the Rev. Billy GrahamQ: Will we ever achieve peace on earth? — P.S.

A: The human race continues its futile search for peace in all the wrong places, placing its hope in governments, successes, or religions. This is what the Bible says concerning mankind’s futility: “The way of peace they have not known” (Romans 3:17). Today there is little personal, domestic, social, economic, or political peace anywhere. Why? Mankind has within it the seeds of suspicion, violence, hatred, and destruction.

Millions search for what can only be found in Christ. There have been men and women who had the ability to write a check for a million dollars, and would offer it, if it would bring them peace. But peace cannot be bought.

Peace will not come to the world until Christ returns. “Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division” (Luke 12:51). Jesus was not saying that He prevented peace; He was giving fair warning that His message would divide people. After all, who likes to be told they are sinners who must repent? When Christ began His earthly ministry, He showed love, gave comfort, and brought healing. The people’s response was to oppose Him, reject Him, arrest Him, and kill Him.

And Satan does everything in his power to steer peace seekers away from the Peacemaker, Jesus Christ. The same people that talk of peace, lobby for it and convene peace conferences, are often the same people who are blinded by Satan who does not want the world to recognize the Source of peace.

But personal peace can be realized in the here and now. Jesus said, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace” (John 16:33). The future does not hinge on the world situation, however grim it might become. It depends on what each person does about Jesus Christ.
