Be doers of the Word, not hearers only

We are blessed to have another wonderful message today from Sister Connie Keyohara! God Bless you Sister!!! Thank you!!!

You were born for such a time as this. Esther 4:14

Recently as I was enduring some spiritual hardships, I was very discouraged. I began to question why.

Have you ever felt like no matter what you do, you cannot be completely happy?

It’s very common, but sometimes it can take a toll on our spiritual well being.

As I began to question why and seek God on this matter, I felt like I was all alone. I began to believe that I was doing this alone.

So, months have gone by and I can’t shake this. No matter how much I try, I can’t hear or see God moving. I can’t understand why this is even happening.

Then one day I was watching one of my old favorite movies. “The Karate Kid” in this movie young Daniel moves to So Cal with his mom.

He becomes the target of a group of bullies who study karate at the Cobra Kai dojo. Fortunately, Daniel befriends Mr. Miyagi who just happens to be a martial arts master himself. Miyagi takes Daniel under his wing

He has Daniel paint his whole fence, wax his fleet of cars, sand the wooden floors and paint his house. All the while Daniel was learning karate techniques. He never knew it until it was time to put them into practice.

He thought he was just doing “chores” but he was actually in training the whole time. He was learning defensive blocks.

When time came for battle, he was fully prepared. (he wins)

Then it dawned on me, all these years of my bible studies, attending church, prayer, communion with God, intercession and all my devotions… was for such a time as this.

I began to put into practice all I’ve learned. Which was actually more than I imagined.

I had mad defensive skills that I didn’t even know I had.

Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me–put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:9

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. James 1:22

As Christians, we are responsible for putting the Bible into daily practice. If we don’t take the time to apply it, We will not win!

There is incredible power in reading Scripture daily and the knowledge we receive from it serves as a foundation for our faith.

And when tough times come, and they definitely will, you will have the techniques to overcome the enemy. (We win)

My prayer for you today, is that you’d be amply prepared for your battle!

Many Blessings,

Connie Keyohara
