A Prayer of Freedom!

Dear Father, my Savior and King, I am so thankful for the blessing to live and breathe freely in this nation, America.   Here, in this land we boast of “liberty and justice for all,” but there is nothing greater than the feeling of liberty experienced by freedom from sin and death that You provided through Jesus Christ, our LORD.  On this Independence Day, my heart and soul are free indeed to praise You.  For this, I am very thankful.

Today, I think of, and pray gratefully for all those who have sacrificed for my freedom. I do not take my freedom, both physical and spiritual, for granted.  May I never forget the high price paid for my freedom, as it cost others their very lives.  Lord, today and every day, if it pleases You, bless those who have served and continue to risk and even give their lives for my freedom.  Help me never to take these blessings for granted.

Dear Jesus, I now pray for the people of these United States.   Many have lost their way; they have been blinded by the evil one so that the Truth evades their thinking and understanding.   It is for each one that I pray now. I ask that You might break the power of Satan from their minds, that You, by Your Holy Spirit might convict them of sin and of righteousness.   Illuminate Your precious Word of Truth into their conscious understanding so that they may make a rational decision for salvation in Christ Jesus becoming Eternal Life. Save them as they call upon Your Holy name.

And of great importance and grave need, Dearest Jesus, revive Your Church!   Awaken those of us who slumber, unaware of the paths we have walked from You, Your Word, and Your glory. Forgive our sin. Cleanse our hearts.   Renew a right spirit within us. Cause us to pray, to repent, to humble ourselves and seek Your face. We ask for divine protection over this undeserving land.

Help Your Church to live in a way that glorifies you, Lord.  Give us the strength to be blessings in many lives today and always.   Father, grant us opportunities, backed with courage to lead others into the freedom we enjoy found in knowing Jesus Christ.  In His precious name I pray, Amen!
