A Mother’s Love, by Karen Rowe

JOCHEBED: A GODLY MOTHER!
I. WE SEE HER CREDENTIALS
II. WE SEE HER COURAGE
III. WE SEE HER CONFIDENCE
By Confidence, I am referring to faith.

Today, is a day when we take the time to honor the one human being who unselfishly gives herself to her children time and time again, without asking for anything in return.  If your life has been blessed by the touch of a godly mother, then you have enjoyed one of this world’s greatest treasures and blessings.

A Lesson for today.

We can read the story of how Moses’ mom took care of Moses.  In this Bible story, we are introduced to a woman named Jochebed.  Her selfless love and sacrifice made possible the exodus of God’s people from Egypt and literally changed the course of history.

But what about us?

Will we be totally committed to God?   Will we be totally committed to God with our children, like Jochebed trusted God?

Jochebed:  A Godly Mother

We can grow from the stories of the Bible, but how would we react in a situation like that of Jochebed?

Think about it…

And, how can you draw strength from this Bible story of one mom, to be the mom God made you to be? … as you raise the child whom God will lead.

Look at Moses as a baby and the mom whom loved him.  We see Jochebed’s credentials.  She was an Israelite, one of God’s chosen people.  She was also a member of the tribe of Levi from which would come the priests and those who would carry out the duties of the Tabernacle and later of the Temple.  She, and her husband Amram, were evidently very dedicated and religious people.  The were willing to defy the order of Pharaoh and keep the commandments of God.

Jesus is our credentials and our courage to obey God in our heart to obey God in our faith.

We see our children as handsome, prosperous, many times we see in our child more than they can see in themselves.  It is vital that we don’t let the world enter our thoughts, but that we keep the faith in whom God has made our child to be.

Trusting God is far more effective than trusting in anything we can see.

As a mom, look at Jochebed.  How did she feel to release her son in the water to float to a better hope than she could see?  Isn’t that faith?  Isn’t that trust in God!  Jochebed had a bigger faith in what God could do, than what the world was saying would become of her son.  And, God moved in an amazing way!

We see her courage! Read the Decree of Pharaoh – Ex 1:15-22.  Joshebed refused to give in to a godless system that would have cost her the life of her son.

In modern day Super-Hero language, Jochebed was a godly mother who fought for the life of her son.  Her faith in God was more significant than any cape of modern day fictitious Super-Hero, who fights for righteousness sake!  A godly mother, Jochebed did not render to her feelings; she rendered to trusting God!

Jochebed did not render to her feelings; she rendered to trusting God!

We see her Credentials.

We see her Courage.

We see her Confidence.

By confidence, I am referring to faith.

Jochebed was a woman motivated by a strong faith in the will of a Sovereign God!  Her faith was so strong that she was named, along with her husband, to God’s hall of the Faithful in Hebrews 11:23.  She needed this kind of faith to accomplish what she did for the Lord and for her son.

She needed this kind of faith to accomplish what she did for the Lord and for her son.

What about you?

What do you need faith for?

Jochebed didn’t know that her son would grow up to kill a man.  But she knew God would take care of him, in which God surely did.  Regardless of what a child may be going through, have faith in God like Jochebed for your child!

She had faith!  As planting a corn seed, the one who plants has expectations that that corn seed will grow to produce!  And, so it is with our children of faith!  Jochebed had no idea Moses would be all he was.  She didn’t know all he would do or become.  But she trusted God to take care of him.

she trusted God to take care of him.

Don’t limit God.  God knows.  Have faith for our children in this broken world!  Have faith for our children regardless!  They can’t fight against our faith!  The world won’t love as a mother loves.

A Report Is Coming!

God comforts the mother as a mother comforts her son.  Perhaps at her lowest point emotionally, how would it feel to leave your son in a basket floating in the water for the enemy’s daughter to find?  Trust in God is powerful!

Miriam, the sister of Moses, then watched to see what would happen to him. When the Pharaoh’s daughter went down to the river to bathe, she noticed the basket…

When the Pharaoh’s daughter went down to the river to bathe, she noticed the basket and sent a slave girl to get it. After she opened it and saw the baby, she fell in love with him. At that moment…

Then, the report come!

Miriam bravely stepped forward and offered to find a Hebrew woman to nurse the baby for the princess, who had decided to keep the baby as her own. And so it was, that Moses’ own mother was paid to care for him until he could be weaned and then given over to the Princess to be raised as an Egyptian.

Only God could know!

Believe God!

Read HIs Word and KNOW HIS PROMISES to those who love him!

Only God knows how your situation turns out, and we can know …

God Works In All Things
27And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose. 29For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers.…

Only God knows how your story ends.  Look to Jesus, whom is …

as it is Written in Hebrews 12:2 New King James Version

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

And, God knows the seed HE has put in you!  God knows the seed HE has put in your child!  God doesn’t see your life like you see your life.  God already says you are free, even when you don’t feel free.  Stop looking at your mistakes.  Stop looking at how you feel.  Stop looking at what the enemy is doing around you.  Worship God!  And, See what God sees!  Seek, speak and prepare, by your faith; and trust God to do the work!  Let the spirit of the living Lord rise up in you and trust God to move and do what only God can do!

Jochebed, by faith trusted God would take care of her son.  The enemy’s daughter took him and then; the mother was paid to care for him.  For that season  …

And, what faith!  How would you feel to give your child to the enemy’s daughter when they become of age?

Jochebed did not render to how she was feeling; she rendered to trusting God!

Jochebed did not render to how she was feeling; she rendered to trusting God!

Jochebed was a woman motivated by strong faith in the will of a Sovereign God!  A SEED was planted in Moses!  And, when the choice finally come to choose, Moses chose to serve the afflictions of the Righteous.

Hebrews Chapter 11:24-25

The Faith of Moses

…24By faith Moses, when he was grown, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. 25He chose to suffer oppression with God’s people rather than to experience the fleeting enjoyment of sin. 26He valued disgrace for Christ above the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead to his reward.…

Jochebed was a woman motivated by strong faith in the will of a Sovereign God!

Rejoice! Rejoice I say in the Lord always! Again, I say rejoice!

Love your child, and let your faith in God be greater!

Jochebed trusted God to position Moses in a place that he could grow to be a man of God to lead God’s people and set the captives free!

When you receive this,

you will never be the same!

I hope this is a blessing you Today!

Meet Karen: Hi, I am blessed, by God's good grace and because I know Jesus, I am blessed. I choose to be blessed, because I have a choice set before me and I refuse to look down. I trust God and I know and believe in the love God has for us. I have overcome difficulties; and I am blessed by the grace of God alone. If I have written about it, then I have felt the pain of it in some way, and to some degree. Did you know that Jesus has felt your pain? This is why I write. By God's grace I can identify; and tell you honestly, yes there is hope in anything and everything that you are facing today! Jesus is our Hope! He is the Truth, the Way and the Life. I am married a wonderful man, Robert Rowe; I love my husband and he loves me; and we have been married for 28 years. Together, we have been blessed with a wonderful daughter, named Amanda who is college now; and a wonderful son, named Daniel who is growing up well and soon to graduate elementary school. We work together and by God's grace we run our own business called PSI. We have a pastor over our ministry and over our business and also we depend on him for advise in our family. We have 2 dogs, 4 horses, 2 cats and love to spend time outdoors by the water and by campfires ... that is it seems when we can find time away from life's busy schedule. I love to write because it helps me learn more about God. And, I am driven by a passion from a love that God has put in my heart to share from my experiences and struggles, as I gain understanding in God’s Word to know how effective and powerful God is over our every situation! I share with you so you can know that you are not alone in your struggles. The same God who helps me and my family, is your help and shield as well! Life is not always easy, but it is possible –I like to share the difference that following Jesus makes in my life. And, I love to share God's patience and mercy and love that is with me! I am not perfect, but am experiencing God sanctify me through and through with every mistake I make; and yes, overcome in Christ! Life is not just about the successes; life on this earth is also about the troubles we overcome to discover what God has hidden in our faith to find! Troubles are more a challenge to grow in our faith ... It is not easy, but in the end the grace of God we discover is worth experiencing God in the midst. By Grace, I have discovered Jesus is Peace and He is my Joy and Wisdom from Heaven. God is our Provider and Healer and Creator, who is our help and shield over all things. By grace, I have experienced a nearness to God through my faith in His Son! We are well forgiven by God; and well blessed when we know and believe the love that God has for us. To say, "all is well with my soul" is a powerful knowledge to understand and experience. I sense God's desire for you to know His love for you and how deep His love for you is that He has SO loved you; God gave you His Son. God loves you right now just as you are! There is so much to learn! I believe that as we learn from God, we are God’s gift to each other. It is all God’s story –and for His glory; and God has SO loved us. I love to paint the vision that God has given me about a Father’s love –that God wants you to dream again and visualize His love for you! In God’s eyes, there’s more to life than we see; and in a world that sometimes misrepresents and misunderstands God and love; God wants you to have the courage to dream His dream and see His vision of a Father’s love for you! Many years ago, I prayed to God, “How can I tell a million people what I know about Your Son?” God showed me I had a gift of a ministry about God's Love; and He called it Hope in Today! I write to please God and I write to encourage you; and I write to spend quiet time with God. All because of this love that God has first shown me! I need Jesus –and my life is about my relationship with God. And, every blessing begins with Him! Love in Christ, Karen Rowe, Director Hope in Today Ministries, Inc.
