We are so blessed this morning to have Sister Connie Keyohara with us!!! Thank you Connie for sharing with us! God Bless you and yours!

For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning. Psalm 30:5

There are many things in life that can cause us sadness. We all face difficulties, but one thing is for certain, God has the answer. Have you ever done something that you regret? Or maybe said something you can’t take back? Keep in mind that we all make mistakes we all fall and there’s no sin in falling, but the problem comes when you stay down.

There was a time in my life when I went through a really hard few years. In that time I didn’t turn to God, but I turned to other things. The sin came when I replaced God with things that didn’t matter. This all lead to things in my life that I was ashamed of. After much council And prayer the Lord eventually saw me through the battle.

In the following months after my battle I got depressed I felt like God couldn’t use me because I wasn’t obedient to him as I should’ve been. In retrospect I imagine that God only desired a broken and contrite heart, a heart he could work with.

I recently witnessed, out of my office window a landscaper cleaning our yard, the brush was so bad it had overtaken all the beautiful flowers and plants. As he began to uproot all the weeds around the yard, I began to see the beautiful plants and the flowers that were purposely planted there. It reminded me that sometimes God has to come in and uproot, Overthrow and destroy in order to rebuild replant and restore our hearts. And sometimes it’s painful!

In king David’s lament over his sin, he wrote one of the most beautiful psalms:

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10

He Wrote it with a broken heart. He wrote it with a contrite heart and his seeking forgiveness of God and repenting was all God wanted.

Jesus is not afraid of our mess, it doesn’t worry him. God does not love us from a distance. God steps into our mess to save us and set us free. We are to Follow Christ, we are to be obedient to Christ, and trust him. He does the rest.

My prayer for you today is that you would seek God and that no matter what you’ve done, you would let him begin the restoration process.

Many Blessings,

Connie Keyohara
