I still love getting my ABQ Journal delivered to the house! I am very thankful for our daily newspaper. Newspapers are so vital to America. There is vital information in the Journal everyday, news you will not find on the TV.

This morning the Journal has a front page story on Lt. Ron Herrera who may be Albuquerque’s longest-serving firefighter! Can you imagine how he has seen the world of firefighting change over the years!!!??

My Grandpa Chris Moede, my Dad Wally Moede, and myself served as Volunteer firefighters. Firefighters are my heroes, I have such a deep love for them, there work has changed so very much over the years just as law enforcement work has……the trucks have doubled or tripled in size over the years and the technology, the equipment has changed so fast…..the dangers of the job have increased just in the different chemicals and so forth they face.

Herrera has no plans of leaving anytime soon and loves what he does. Thank you for your dedication and knowledge that you have passed on to so many in our department sir!
