Almost two weeks since Hurricane Florence hit the Carolina coast, the rivers continue to swell flooding homes and businesses.

Let’s come together and pray for those affected by the hurricane and the floods. Let’s pray that in spite of such devastating loss, the people will experience God’s love, grace, provision, and restoration.

PRAYER GUIDE:

  1. WEATHER

Pray that the rain dissipates so the flood waters can recede.

“If He holds back the waters, they dry up…” (Job 12:15).

2. RESCUE

Pray for those who are trapped that they will be reached by rescuers and brought to safety.

“Incline Your ear to me; come quickly to my rescue. Be my rock of refuge, the stronghold of my deliverance” (Psalm 31:2).

3. VICTIMS

Pray for the thousands displaced from their homes. May all their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs be met.

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

4. RESPONDERS

Pray for the protection and safety of the first responders.

“Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or terrified of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).

5. DONATIONS

Pray enough donations are received and the contributions reach those in need.

“Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns—and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” (Matthew 6:26)

6. COMFORT

Pray for those who have lost loved ones that they will be comforted.

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted” (Matthew 5:4).

7. HOPE

Pray for the residents who experienced loss of their homes that they will be restored.

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him from them all” (Psalm 34:19).
