Happy Birthday to Deacon Charles McCargish of FBC in Reserve! Charles turned 84 yesterday! He has the Godly energy of a 34 year old! I have learned so much from Charles! He is such a powerful man of God! Great day of worship in Reserve yesterday! We went out to eat after Church to celebrate the Cowboys Birthday!
Another one of my heroes had a birthday yesterday! Pastor Paul Holt of the First Baptist Church in Magdalena! Pastor Paul has taught me much about being a Pastor. Paul, like Charles, has become a very best friend over the years. I love to stop at Paul and Jo’s on the way to Reserve for a cup of coffee!
I also want to want to thank Pastor Paul for the Godly work that he does here at FGGAM! Pastor Paul is our webmaster! He takes such good care of the website that is all for God’s Glory!!
I love to have mentors, it has helped me so much to surround myself with men and women of God to help me in my daily walk with our Lord.
If you do not have mentors that know your strengths and weaknesses, you must, if you want to become a mature Christian.
If you want to grow, you have to be willing to make yourself vulnerable, you have to be an open book.
Deacon Charles is pictured and then myself and Paul from way back when??? LOL! when we did a TV program.
Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.
So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.
Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.
