Waiting on God By Jeanne Theriault
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.
Have you ever wondered why God doesn’t answer our prayers right away?
Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts neither are your ways my ways.
Scriptures teaches us to trust God in all things for he knows what is best for us, better than we know for ourselves.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding 6 In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your path straight.
You need to have a heart that trusts God and not to figure things out but to acknowledge him in every situations that you face. Sometimes we just need to be still and wait for God’s perfect timing.
Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God
Exodus 14:14 The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still.
Psalm 65:5 You answer us with awesome deeds of righteousness , O God our Savior.
Being still requires us to trust him and to believe in him that He is faithful to all his children who believes.
Look at Job he lost everything his family, his wealth, his body was inflicted with sickness, his own wife told him to curse his God and die. His friends blamed him for his own troubles.
Job 1:20 Then he fell to the ground in worship, may the name of the Lord be praised.
Job did not listen to his wife or his friends or look at the difficulties he was facing, instead he worshipped God and gave him praise . By doing that I believe that Job knew that God would deliver him. Job was a man that believed God. At the end of his waiting period, God rewards Job for his faithfulness and his endurance through such suffering. (Job 42:10-17)
When we pray instead of questioning God and saying when, how, and where. God sees and has a perfect timing for all things in our lives. Though we may not see the whole picture he know what is best for us. As long as we stay focused on him and believe his promised Word. Scriptures teaches us that he is faithful.
Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, He is the faithful God.
Isaiah 55:9 As the heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
As we trust God, He will come through in the waiting period just be still and give God thanks in the midst of your waiting.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Be joyful always pray continually 18 Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 69:30 I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.
Hold on to your faith, keep your confidence, don’t loose your hope believe in His Word. Keep your eyes on Him, give him thanks. In due season he will answer your prayers.
Psalm 6:9 The Lord has heard my cry for mercy and the Lord accepts my prayers.
Psalm118:5 In my anguish I cried to the Lord and he answered by setting me free.
Psalm 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield, my heart trusts in him and I am helped, my heart leaps for joy and I will give him thanks to him in song.
If there is something that you have been praying for, just be still. Job waited and persevered to the end and the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. Knowing God is better than knowing the answer.
2 Corinthians 1:11 As you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.
Lamentations 3:25-26 The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him. It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
Thank you Lord for your powerful Word that you stay true and faithful to those who believes and trusts in you. Though for a season we wait in expectation we will give you thanks and praise for the answer will come in your perfect timing. Amen
