Clinton triumphs in South Carolina

Hillary Clinton has been projected as the winner of South Carolina’s primary, giving her what looks to be a decisive victory in a key state days before Super Tuesday.

Several news organizations declared Clinton the victor just after polls closed at 7 p.m.

South Carolina was seen as a test of Clinton’s strength with African American voters, who were expected to side with her over Sen. Bernie Sanders.
